Wow... still no reply... here I'll type it out to y'all...

WHO FUNDS THE EMPIRE IF THE REBELS WON...

Rebels were patching stuff together with old fighters and etc in the Civil War. You think after 30 years and maybe controlling the banks the *politically correct* FIRST ORDER... would be using old armor and fighters. Patched work Star Destroyers... You know reversed haha on the Empire?

They didn't win. They killed the Emperor and every saw the celebration assuming that the Rebels won but what if all they did was simply create more of a turmoil, think about when dictators are taken out, everyone celebrates but then it usually leads to a harder situation where people are in fighting and allowing someone new to take over, or even if the Empire itself is still being fought over with many different factions claiming to be the real Empire successor but are fighting against themselves as much as fighting against the Rebels?

:lol I don't get why Luke's hand looks like a terminator? He had a perfectly human looking robotic hand in the last film, but now 30 years later in the future, his hand looks more primitive than ever :dunno

What if he is hobbited? A recluse? Like Ben? Then he'd have to maintenance his own hand, I doubt he wanted to sit around and patch it up on top of finding "fake skin" to replace. It looks like this because that's all he had wherever he was.

Because special effects are better today than they were 30 years. And because of that the director wants to make it look cool, not practical.

...and who knows how much damage was actually done by the Emperor's Sith Lightening, we can't see because of the glove but underneath the skin might've been damaged.

It's clearly not the same hand, which means he changed it, and since they had the technology to make realistic looking hands when he was young, it would make sense for the technology in part 7 to be even better, not worst. I mean, they have the technology to make a soccer ball robot. R2D2 looks like an old car compared to that thing now. I'm sure prosthetic limbs have improved also.

Yup, that's probably the reason :lol

:lecture

The problem with rebellions is when they accomplish the goal of disposing the power structure they don't like (in this case The Empire) they usually have difficulty agreeing on what comes next. That often times leads to more fighting.

The common cause that once unified different people is gone. New leadership is usually more complicated than "This guy was brave. Let's put him in charge."

There is no sense of a bigger mythology in these trailers so far, even the prequels had that. I miss it, hopefully the next full trailer will fix that.

If I'm not mistaken the Finn character always seems to be out of breath and sweating a lot. Maybe he needs a transport or something to get to his destination or something....:dunno

Maybe he just likes it that way. Maybe its a way of reminding him not to become like his father.

Peter Mayhew so doesn't play Chewie in this. The guy could barely walk out onto the stage at Celebration. Chewie is being played by Ian Whyte in this. He popped up in a BTS video a while back.

I would guess Mayhew is Chewie in the Falcon cockpit shots and whenever they can do a waist up shot.

Emotionally the guy is invested (maybe too much) in the character. I can't imagine him not doing some of the filming.

I don't think he did anything, that his name is there but he did nothing else. About as silly as when they hired him for the Clone Wars. A bit pointless when it was animated.
