There is no defending Batman and Robin.....at least now....I walked out of it then....the only film I have ever done that for.

Then tell me my dear xipotec, why defend TLJ? Hmmm?

You're a pretty funny guy under all this intensity. Come on, crack a joke at TLJ's expense. You said all the memes for it have gotten old, surely you are creative enough to make a couple of your own.

Say something negative about TLJ, you'll feel better. Look how many people have been brought together through the hate for this thing, it's fun!

Holdo's character arc and complete interaction with Poe in one picture:

Let me give this a try.

“Last Jedi made me sad walking out of the theater because it was so awesome I wanted more.”

did i do this right?

TLJ is like Chinese food.

I want to go back for more.

Maybe quality rumpy plumpy with Rose again tomorrow.

NOOOOO, you sound like the person you dislike on here the most!

Try again, but this time I want you to concentrate and feel while you type. Breathe, just . . . breathe. Think back to a couple of weeks ago. What was something odd in the movie that made lil Zach think "WTF". Do you have it? Good. Now release it as a beautiful new post that I can give you laughing emojis for.

I want the intensity and humor of the Porg hating Zach, not this TLJW nu-Zach thing you got going on. Go deeper my friend.

Don’t get me wrong, i really like this movie but my expectations were set with TFA, I knew going forward what the franchise would be. Not as classic as the OT or shiney and world building as the PT, but still star wars and still a fun time. I never expected a ESB or ANH quality of film. The biggest difference between my POV and others on this board is that i’m not hung up on the franchise and what it once was. I view these flicks as I would a SW video game, cool side stories or a continuation of a story that doesn’t feel as important. And i’m okay with that, it’s just more SW for me and if it entertains me I will be honest and say it did. I like ‘em cause I get my fix. Sure, they did some ****ing stupid **** in TLJ, superman leia is a huge WTF moment and could of been done much better, my girl loved that part and let me tell you now that’s the closest i’ve ever been to slapping the **** out of a SO.

I’m not hung up on Luke. I actually like his arc.

Other than that, the canto blight scenes are ****ing ******** for the sole fact that it’s ******* space horses. Why not pod racing you little disney ****s? At least make it bareable.

BUT i did like this more than TFA, which even surprised me.

And i don’t go to any movie without smoking a pack woods, so that may be a factor as well. it’s been this way since i saw AOTC.

The box-office for this sure is slowing down abruptly. Headed for a 3rd place finish this weekend with it's 3rd weekend possibly lower than Rogue One's 3rd weekend. Also it's total in Japan will likely be less than Valerian there.

This is TLJ's fourth weekend and everyone's already seen it 2-4 times by now so naturally it will start dropping.

It's trailing TFA by $800M worldwide and over $350M domestically, quite the fall off.

Tumbling down, down, down.

Disney's the Last Jedi has been dismissed, rejected and publically humiliated.

It’s failed to come anywhere near the analyst projections of $1.7-$1.8 Billion.
~$1.35B may be the final resting spot, basically means Disney left up to $400M on the table, and the ripple through to the next few movies could take the opportunity cost much higher. As a Disney shareholder I’m not happy about this, but it’s quite an interesting case study.

EDIT: Keep in mind the anticipation for this was huge, it opened at only 8% below TFA. So the drop off is massive when you compare the delta on the gap down from an initial 8% to a final 35%-40% less than TFA.

Anyone who thought the third SW film in 3 years was going to make 1.7 to 1.8 billion was nuts. Dropoffs on random weekends ultimately don't matter, only the final tally and at an assumed 1.2 to 1.4 billion that's more than worthy enough to be recognized in the archives of the Jedi Order.

Before TLJ was released I predicted that it'd be the first Disney SW to earn less than a billion. I figured that with them pumping them out once a year that they'd settle for an annual take of 700-800 million. I guess Solo will be the first to have that "honor."
