Lately I've wished we could have gotten whatever Lucas's outline was for the sequels...now you've reminded me of some of his awful OT revisions, some truly terrible scene-destroying ideas..so yeah I dunno. Maybe it would have been no better.

Supposedly Lucas’s outline was pulled from so who really knows.

Isn’t Lucas one of Disney’s largest shareholders I bet he’s really running the show and Kennedy is just the front lol

I thought I heard something about Luke having another Sister that was evil. He talked about it with Mark H. I heard

Does anyone here feel that the new trilogy movies are just too disposable ? That they are not having any long staying power as much as the OT and PT movies had have ? Some characters are popular but nowhere near as big it appears as say Vader, Anakin, Luke, Obi One, Maul, Qui Gon, Yoda, Rex, Asoka and so on.

Do you think Rey will become as iconic as those, or is the movie every year momentum going to kill that ? I am not a big fan of Rey myself, but am curious if she will have as much staying power as other leads.

That's really hard to say, for now it relies a lot on how they will be handled in IX.

I haven't truly bonded with any of them, that's for sure. My biggest hope was Snoke, then Kylo. Snoke's dead. Kylo made me like him less in TLJ :lol
I actually liked Rey quite a lot in TFA, especially the Jakku part. I liked her innocence and thought her arc would get way better with TLJ. But same as Kylo, TLJ didn't work for me when it came to her character.

I'm sure they have lots of fans among kids and the new fans this trilogy is bringing in. But quantifying it compared to older OT and PT/CW characters isn't really possible, beyond the fact that the merch isn't selling well.

I've never heard of Rex and Asoka :lol

Is Anakin really popular? I always thought he was memorable for the wrong reasons, kind of like Jar Jar.

Rey, BB8, and Kylo are probably the most recognizable SW characters right now, but only time will tell if they are truly memorable and relevant with the younger SW fans. Out of the 3 characters, I think BB8 will be the most memorable. :lol

They are Clone Wars (and Rebels) characters. Ahsoka was Anakin's apprentice and started off as really annoying but became a fan favorite. She leaves the Jedi Order which is why she isn't part of ROTS.

Anakin is awesome in Clone Wars, you don't have to deal with Hayden's acting. His voice actor is great and obviously the facial expressions aren't the same.
He has great moments, and goes REALLY dark a few times which helps make more sense of his turn to the dark side in ROTS.

I quite like DiFabio’s explanation of the Emperor pulling her life into Vader’s rebirth.

Ironic that Anakin wanted to save her from dying and the guy who promised to teach him that was the one who killed her.

Across the Stars song was really about her life force traveling across the stars into Vader. :lol

Plagueis teachings were used in reverse.

I like that, Clone Wars did put a bigger emphasis on the 'witch' part that came with being a Sith at Sidious's level, so that would make total sense.
If only Lucas had put something like that in the movie instead of letting fans theorize :lol

DiFabio was probably just being facetious :lol

That is a very good answer ...New to me....I think I will drown out that scene with that explanation....
But then where did the twins life force come from? Midiclorians?

I hope Boba Fett turns out to be a non entity in Solo.....

I hate that character....

I wonder if the surprise Character on the send away cardback had been Salacious Crumb , if he would have the same cult following ....

Yea cause there's just so much to hate. An impossibly kewl character with so much on screen potential that it's nauseating .

I would rather they made a boba fett film instead of a han solo one. It could start with him escaping the sarlacc and righting that wrong.

Unfortunately I agree with you. She’s had no growth, no weakness, nothing to help you connect with her at any meaningful level. JJ would need to pull a rabbit out of his a$$ to complete this trilogy in any meaningful way. This new ST is as disposable as old pulp fiction novels.

Putting the questionable backstory choices aside for Rey, the choice to cover just a few days between both movies still baffles me.
I think having TLJ pick up right after TFA was the right way to do it because we needed to see what happened between Luke and Rey (well, I'd rather not know considering what we got :lol) but TLJ should have been spread over a far longer longer period of time, with training montages, showing that long periods of time have passed on the island, etc...
The time span for this new trilogy will most likely be the shortest of all three by a huge margin. You can get some development, but definitely not meaningful development.

Rey, Kylo, and BB-8 will join the pantheon of SW characters. Finn, Poe, Hux will be lower; Rose and Broom-Boy...well Jar Jar they are not but...

Snoke died less than a week after TFA :lol
