Well, we see it but all powerful Snoke didn't. Too worried about Rey I guess. Oh well.
Oh right just like all powerful Palpatine didn't see Vader coming
To be fair, Snoke talked too much. His focus was more on relishing in watching Rey die and also in his own dialogue, than what was actually going down.Oh right just like all powerful Palpatine didn't see Vader coming
Not sure why you've been waiting to catch me in my own words from however many days/weeks ago but once again I haven't mocked anyone for disliking TLJ. I have found the fact that some guys have been threatened by how the characters interacted in the movie to be quite silly (in addition to some off hand remarks in these threads discussing them) but I haven't once ridiculed anyone simply for not liking the movie.
Ruin Johnson nightmare could have made just as much or more than TFA if it was done right.
Easy Recipe:
Add 3 cups of Lightsaber fights
Two cups of not ****ing up Luke
Two tablespoons of answering some ****ing questions from TFA
2 pinches of some character development
and a dash of Nostalgia
Put in theater and bake for 3 weeks
subtract the casino scenes
add a hot rose (same actress just dolled up)
instant success
I got absolutely smashed last Wednesday and watched RoTS, I dont know man that had most of these elements and was putrid. I havent watched it in about 10 years and never went to the Theater to see it, the last battle is like a root canal. I actually enjoyed TPM the most out of the prequels, so I guess we all have our own therory of whats a good star wars movie. I have ZERO excitement to see Solo and that was before I was disappointed in TLJ. I really hope for Disney/LucasArts is does good because this could be the beginning of the end for Star Wars
Yea cause there's just so much to hate. An impossibly kewl character with so much on screen potential that it's nauseating .
Ok, here it is. Just got back form my FIRST VIEWING of The Last Jedi.
I am a long time Star Wars fan. I saw Star Wars (Not A New Hope) when I was 7 in 1977 so its been with me most of my life and after reading all the complaints I was going in expecting the biggest piece of garbage ever put to film.... and.... well.... it..... wasn't.
First off some of the bad.... but none of them are deal breakers
Space Leia - kind of hokey
Yoda - kind of hokey
Could have been about 20 minutes shorter.
Yes, they could have cut down on the jokes.
Now some of the complaints I read....
Rey being a nobody - THANK GOD. I was praying she wasn't a Skywalker (or any relation to anyone we knew) that would have been a cop out.
Snoke - I am just fine with him dying, in fact I thought it was pretty cool the way it happened.
Luke milk - it was a 5 second scene... no big deal.
Broom boy - If he shows up in IX and has powers it just shows the force is everywhere and can be in anyone. No problem with it.
Casino scene. I'm not sure what the exact complaints were about it but it was just fine by me.
Luke hologram - At first I thouht he was really there but when his footprints didn't leave red marks in the sand it was obvious he wasn't and I am ok with him "force projecting" himself there. Jedi have to learn something new in 20 years
I'm not going to dissect every little thing or every scene nor do I worry about those things. I liked it overall. I'd put it in 4th place just behind the 3rd place tie of ROTS & ROTJ.
Go ahead and rip me all you want because I don't hate it like I am supposed to.. I'm a big boy I can take it but I'm looking forward to the next one and I'll be happy to watch this one again.
And he turned out to be a snitch delivery boy, who died by tripping into a hole....
Sooooo, without the betrayal of the great DJ, the FO would have had no idea that little ships were leaving the big ship. They can turn a planet into a giant weapon, travel in hyperspace that need precise calculations, track other ships in hyperspace, but they don't have any type of tech that would detect little ships leaving the big ship. I guess the bridge just has a few guys with space binoculars looking out into the beyond then? I guess they're just so small they're scanner can't detect them?
Wasn't it in the very first movie, Ep4, that the empire detected escape pods were jettisoned from the Tantive IV, and even scan them for life forms? (Oh yeah, none of that matters anymore cause it never happened. Kennedy and Johnson just like to make stuff up and pretend TLJ is so revolutionary that all that came before will be forgotten.) I guess the FO is also dumb enough to think that when the big ship runs out of fuel, all the resistance will just sit tight and die, not try to escape in escape pods... Or maybe they believe the resistance is so dumb that they don't even have escape pods on their command ships??
Just so many questions... I'm so confused. My brain hurts. Someone make it stop.....
