Jyn totally made sense to me. She is far less likable than Rey was in TFA (so cute with her little bread and helmet), but her skill set and personality traits are perfectly coherent. She isn't a Mary Sue, she's just good at what she does because she has been doing it for a long time and had a really tough life. It's not like she starts Force pulling stuff halfway through the movie, or goes toe to toe against Vader at the end.
Although that would have made more sense for her in a way, considering she knew about the Force since she was a kid (clearly not enough midi-chlorians though).

Yep, her main characteristics were her fearless initiative and the ability to inspire courage in others and was able to live as long as she did because she was just always watching her own back.

Do we know if those are 6" or 3.75" yet?

They're continuing the 3.75 inch VOTC line starting this spring. The first wave will be all the characters pictured above (including Snoke.) I don't think we'll see any more 6 inch figures on vintage cardbacks beyond the original 12 they did for the 40th anniversary.

I think RO will pick up even more support and love over time and be one of the true classics of the SW Universe.

It has no Skywalker or Solo or Kenobi... and yet its pulled BO magic at #8. Not bad.

1. Star Wars: The Force Awakens---$936,662,225
2. Avatar------------------------------$760,507,625
3. Titanic------------------------------$659,363,944
4. Jurassic World---------------------$652,270,625
5. Marvel's The Avengers------------$623,357,910
6. Star Wars: The Last Jedi------$572,691,546 (and counting)
7. The Dark Knight-------------------$534,858,444
8. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story---$532,177,324

Does that mean 3.75" figures with more articulation or more of the same? I'm glad to see the original cardback style coming back, especially after how bland they were for TFA, RO, and TLJ.

I loved TLJ but I fully approve of this turning into a RO/Jyn Erso appreciation thread, lol.

One thing's for sure it will never be tainted by a controversial sequel since this is what comes next:

Compared to...
Rey is still Rey from the end of TFA. Nothing more, nothing less. Nothing learned, nothing gained, and nothing lost (oh her parent were drunks.. Nah no credit given for that fail)
Finn is the same Finn from the end of TFA
Poe is the same Poe from the end of TFA no matter how much they tried and make him something he wasn't with the whole hot head plot.. Never got that feeling that he was a hot head in TFA... In fact he was
Luke is made to be bitter so he can be not bitter and give the rebels some time to escape.. Same amount of Time Finn would have given them were it not for Rose taking away the only true substantial thing (other then Snoke) this film had to offer.
Pretty sure Rey is way better at making rocks float after Last Jedi. Finn. . .correct, he doesn't change at all and is still worthless. But I did think Poe certainly had a nice character arc in Last Jedi. Sure, he was the only character who really had one, and you are right that his "hot headed scamp" personality didn't exist in the previous film. But so what?

Rotten Tomatoes has a very strange way of presenting ratings.

The Audience Scores is:

The percentage of users who have rated this movie 3.5 stars or higher

Thats 3.5 out of 5, or 70%.

So when they say 49% of users liked it, they're saying that 49% of users scored it at 70% or above. Why not 2.6 out of 5? Since the system allows you to select a fraction of a star.

They display the average rating as 3/5 (60%).

I think that makes some sense. If a reviewer says it's just slightly better than average, it's not rated as very good. So, a reviewer has to give it a 70% to be considered good. But there is an arbitrariness to the whole thing.

But the rating criteria is "liked it".

And they're setting "like" at 70%. Which implies you disliked it if you rated it 69.9%.

To me like/dislike is as the balance of scales. Pros vs cons, and which way the scales tilt.

The further they tilt beyond 50% is where you start to either 'love' or 'hate' a thing.

You're right that there is an "arbitrariness to the whole thing." Rotten Tomatoes move in strange ways, and then gets stranger with their Bayesian Adjusted Scoring taking the ratings over 100%.

It was pointed out in one of the figure threads that all three Prequels got an "A-" Cinemascore rating while all three Disney SW flicks have earned a solid "A." As many already know there's a pretty significant divide between those two scores. Arbitrary RT audience nonsense is fake news, Cinemascore is the real deal.

Interesting facts. The Lucasfilm Story Group didn't have a story planned for E8. No Rey backstory. No Snoke backstory. No Luke backstory. KK gave RJ free reign to do what he wanted.

6 out of 8 people in KK's Story Group are women, Kennedy said in an interview, adding that "I think it’s making a huge difference in the kind of stories we’re trying to tell".

No ****? Why should that make a difference at all if your primary goal is to make quality films?

The irony is that she's becoming a liability for feminism everywhere, just as Grace warned about. From the video: "It's now clear why Rey is a Mary Sue. It's clear why Holdo is a ****. It's clear why these movies have no structure, no direction, or entertainment value."
