You guys are just going to have to impeach him for colluding with me I guess. We went to Hoth to take the Kylo challenge, lol.

Oh, well I guess but eh, most Mad Max movies start with him wandering the desert by himself and then ending with him doing the exact same thing but so what as long as lots of cool stuff happens in between, lol. Even ESB began and ended with the Rebels hiding from the Empire.

Luke getting his ass kicked, losing a hand, and finding out Vader is his father..
Luke finding out how far he has to go.
Han and Leia falling in Love..
3PO is blown to bits
Han being frozen and taken to Jabba
Vader showing some kind emotion besides anger (the reaction after the falcon goes into hyperspace and then the fact he does not kill anyone for failing to disable the hyperdrive on the Falcon)
The introduction of classic characters Yoda, Lando, and to a much lesser extent Boba Fett and the Emperor
All done in a natural story telling flow.. Nothing forced. True character development and growth.

Compared to...
Rey is still Rey from the end of TFA. Nothing more, nothing less. Nothing learned, nothing gained, and nothing lost (oh her parent were drunks.. Nah no credit given for that fail)
Finn is the same Finn from the end of TFA
Poe is the same Poe from the end of TFA no matter how much they tried and make him something he wasn't with the whole hot head plot.. Never got that feeling that he was a hot head in TFA... In fact he was
Luke is made to be bitter so he can be not bitter and give the rebels some time to escape.. Same amount of Time Finn would have given them were it not for Rose taking away the only true substantial thing (other then Snoke) this film had to offer.

The story is a classic middle chapter done in the best possible way..

The fact that you try and knock down Empire just to prove that TLJ is a good film just proves you have some kind of strange blind spot for TLJ and will defend it till the end no matter how much it destroys your reputation :lol

Don't compare TLJ with Mad Maxx if you want to keep Jye on your side. :lol

Besides there is a big difference in what happens in Mad Maxx and TLJ.. What happens in the middle is far more exciting

Yeah well i’m going easy on JAWS because I like him lol

In reality though we even debunked his wheel spinning complaint. :lol

Pretty sure you guys are PMing each other and plotting behind my back to troll me.. :lol

Why appear to compliment a person and then even introduce the notion that a person is a "Nazi?"

And the reason I don't take that as a joke, as I once would have with jye, is because of his others rants/references to Nazis in this thread which appear to be in total earnest. It comes across as genuinely obsessive concern.

Wow. Evidence or GTFO.

Lol it’s an obvious joke told by many of us here. It’s da internet bruh

Yeah I hate Box office talk also..

John Carpenter's The Thing failed at the box office. People are idiots :lol

Nope, just pointing out that what works for one good film also works for another good film. :lecture

:D

*come on jye respond to my PM so that we can plan our next attack*

Nothing you have pointed out is true.. Except basically admitting you and Jye were working against me.. :lol :lol

I am taking my toys and going home.. ;)

If you insist.

https://www.boxofficemojo.com/showdowns/chart/?view=basic&id=roguevforce.htm

If you look at the weekly breakdown episode 8 is a lot more RO than it is TFA from a financial standpoint. And RO did not have the benefit of being a trilogy film.

Episode 9 won't have the mystique of Luke to kick around any longer. How many folks are dying to see Mary Sue duel the emo-king again? Because that is all that is left of this trilogy.

Jye agreed with me until Khev scolded him..

It all like this with those two..

Jye "Man its cold"
Khev "No its not"
Jye "Yeah I'm really warm"

:lol :lol

;)

So, the lessons learned here are,

- Those that like it refuse to admit they are wrong and it is a bad movie...
- Those that don't like it refuse to admit they are wrong and it is a good movie...

Just like the audience score on RT, 50% split down the middle...

Oh wait, just checked RT... The audience rating is now 49% !! :panic:

I don't think anyone expected RO to pull in the numbers it did, especially with an entire cast of unknowns. It just goes to show how awesome that movie was and the power of word of mouth.

Haha I checked a couple hours ago and it was still 50%, I was wondering how long it was going to take :lol

:lol :lol

Star Puffs what'd you think of Jyn? I don't recall you weighing in on RO last year.

I love Rogue One. I rewatched it for the first time since the theater (where I also loved it) about a week ago. Star Wars felt almost dead to me until it revived my interest.

Although Jyn is cut from the Rebel without a Cause cloth, I feel it is relatively fresh for a female lead. They also give her a plausible basis for her skills and the sort of maladjusted personality (and directionless conduct) I would expect under the circumstances of her life.

The surrounding characters are all pretty great. Chirrut really stands out for me in a second viewing.

Jyn and K-2SO are also two of my favorite Hot Toys now.

When you mentioned being put off by the fact that Rey seems unaffected emotionally by events from her past it made me wonder what you thought of Jyn who was clearly messed up by the events surrounding her father's capture and then later "abandonment" by Saw. Everything in that movie was just so well done. Great archetypes represented by the heroes and a very organic flow from one sequence to the next.

I've got the Imperial Disguise Jyn HT with the Jyn and K-2 PF's on the way.

Looking forward to having her on a classic Kenner cardback as well in a couple of months:
