Too bad though as a kid I never got a double telescoping lightsaber Luke/Vader/Obi-Wan... :(

I have the Vader. :)

So since there's so much talk about Rotten Tomatoes here, let's see how the entire Star Wars universe of movies has faired so far.

Listed highest to lowest user ratings:

I did some very scientific calculations (yeah ... not really) by looking up and tallying the scores for all 9 Star Wars movies from the following: Rotten Tomatoes critics' score, Rotten Tomatoes fans' score, Cinemascore, IMDB user score, and Metacritic score. I ended up throwing out the Cinemascore because they didn't have results for the three OT films, rated all three Prequels as A-, and all three Disney films as A. That's basically a wash. By simply adding the scores together from the various sources, the films "rank" as the following:

1. A New Hope - 287.7 (93+96+8.7+90)
2. The Empire Strikes Back - 281.8 (94+97+8.8+82)
3. The Force Awakens - 270.0 (93+88+8.0+81)
4. Rogue One - 244.8 (85+87+7.8+65)
5. Return of the Jedi - 240.4 (80+94+8.4+58)
6. The Last Jedi - 231.5 (90+49+7.5+85)
7. Revenge of the Sith - 219.6 (79+65+7.6+68)
8. Attack of the Clones - 183.6 (66+57+6.6+54)
9. The Phantom Menace - 171.5 (55+59+6.5+51)

I'm not sure what any of this proves, but I found it interesting to look at all of the different comparisons. And I don't think there's any conspiracy with the RT fans' score for TLJ, but it's interesting that it doesn't follow suit to any of its other measured scores. The same could be said for ROTJ's Metacritic score.

Apparently for a long time...

I think the IQ of the average american has dropped from the time the empire strikes back by 20 points...
How else do you explain the last jedi score.

The fluoride in the water made everyone become so retarded they voted for trumpy and voted against the last jedi

It was pointed out in one of the figure threads that all three Prequels got an "A-" Cinemascore rating while all three Disney SW flicks have earned a solid "A." As many already know there's a pretty significant divide between those two scores. Arbitrary RT audience nonsense is fake news, Cinemascore is the real deal.

Yes brother, rejoice! As you have said, there is a huge divide between an A and an A-! The prequels do not match up to ‘the last Jedi.’ They are weak. They do not belong in such hallowed company as ours or the 1-2 combo of ‘furious 7’ and ‘fate of the furious’, or even ‘transformers: dark of the moon’. Even the mighty ‘blade runner 2049’ cowers below us with its measly A-, an objectively worse movie as we know the difference that ‘minus’ makes. Let it take its place among the prequels! We only belong in the realm of winners such as ‘Tyler Perry’s Madea’s big happy family’, ‘Tyler Perry’s why did I get married too?’ And ‘Tyler Perry’s I can do bad all by myself’

And though we did not make the grade to topple ‘Girls Trip’ at its A+ Cinemascore rating, we rest easy knowing the gap between an A and A+ is even larger and acknowledge its superiority.

RT has fallen as well, the 49% audience score means nothing now as you say, as if 170,000 voices cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced due to being ‘fake news.’ What is their ‘alternative facts’ audience score in front of our objective RT score of 106%?! Let the haters grovel on their knees before it!

Let us rejoice and make merry! Spread the word brother!

just FYI, you need to normalize the scoring since you have 3 score with double digits and 1 with single digits. It essentially dilutes the impact of the single digit score because it's off by an order of magnitude. It may not change your rankings much but a simple work around would be to correct for the IMDB score by multiplying by 10, then adding them all up.

IMO this is going to continue to fall on RT. May settle at 47%, that's 10 full points below the "universally hated" AOTC.

I doubt it... It will climb slowly, maybe all the way to the 90% critics score. Once all the naysayers buy it on bluray for repeated viewings, they'll realize they were wrong all along!!! And finally recognize it truly is a piece of flowing cinematic poetry.

..... :rotfl

Yeah, I was thinking of doing that. The only real effect it would have would be ROTJ switching spots with RO, leaving both still solidly in the middle.

Trump > Hilary

And TLJ was a bad movie. Don't see the issue.

The small screen will definitely save this.
Watching it in a tiny tv will get rid of all the problems that a giant screen shows

He looks absolutely delighted to be cutting that pear. He really thought he was gonna tap it that night.

Along with all the people who love the digital downloads to watch it over and over again on their phones and tablets with super high fidelity headphones.

Yeah but repeat viewings significantly reduce your testosterone levels so we’ll have to carefullly monitor how often we enjoy this stellar pile of garbage

The issue is that empire strikes back was beloved back then.
Now retarded low IQ audiences are hating the last jedi

The last jedi has the same quality as empire strikes back.
