Also a really subtle moment at the very end of the film to highlight the fact that Rey was not the "nobody" that Kylo claimed she was was when she introduced herself to Poe. "Hi I'm Poe." "I'm Rey." "I know." Not only was it a poetic reversal of the "scoundrel" character saying "I know" but unlike Han's awesome dismissal of Leia's love in ESB Poe actually used that phrase to confirm that Rey was not an unknown nobody. "Rey" was no longer a meaningless name with no connotations, it was a name known and respected by the most kickass warriors in the Resistance.

You just reinforced Rey as a MarySue... Unknown character refers to her background and abilities nothing to do with people not knowing her. Everyone can now her, but everyone also loves her because she is perfect and can do no wrong... Good job.. :)

That's a perfect gif.

Thought this was a funny post by Dresky in the action figures section that suits the conversation here:

Those figure section guys must be like "NONO NOO dont quote us nooooo dont bring those crazy movie freaks in here!!!"

Don't be silly. It was established with Rose's reaction to Finn that news of who played a part in the destruction of Starkiller Base had spread throughout the Resistance.

:lol :lol

That's Snyder territory.

RT audience score doesn't align with anything. Not the Cinemascore, not RT critics (most of which have got to be "fans" themselves), not box office, nothing. It's an anomaly perpetuated by "opt in" voters who haven't necessarily even seen the movie. I'm sure people have already begun giving Episode IX low scores on RT as we speak. Fake news.

You can even add:

1978: "Do you think my Star Wars collection can survive Princess Leia singing off-key in that terrible Christmas special?"

1984: "Do you think my Star Wars collection can survive that terrible Ewok TV movie?"

1985: "Do you think my Star Wars collection can survive Wilford Brimley running around Endor in the *second* Ewok movie??"

Etc., etc.

You're right -- I don't think Star Wars ever did survive those Ewok movies. I just never realized it until now.

:D

That has nothing to do with a character being a MarySue.... :dunno

Cinemascore is also fake.. They take viewers reactions as soon as they leave the theater. People were hyped for the PT too. But later reality set in as to how they felt. What about all the fans who left TLJ enjoying it, went home, thought about it, discussed it with friends and family and did change their view as to it not being as good as they thought? Too late, they already gave a nice big thumbs up to cinemascore. To make up for it, maybe they went to RT and voiced their new opinion.

Young people need to learn how to say "Important" and "Sentence".

They all say 'impordant'... and 'sennence'... have you ever noticed?

Snoop's a teacher, right? Can you save our children please.

Picture and Pitcher.

Like a baseball pitcher or a pitcher of lemonade.

I also have a hard time saying Breakfast, comes out like Breakfrast. :lol
