It looks like brunette Grace! :horror

He made the comment to show that he knew it couldn't be Rey linking their minds.

Linking minds isn’t the same thing as astral projection though.. so that doesn’t really make sense why kylo would say that if him and rey weren’t force/astral projections. Linking minds is like when luke called to Leia for help and she heard him

They both involve using the Force to manipulate something on the other side of the galaxy. I agree that Force Projection is the more advanced power which is why it was lethal even to a master like Luke.

I had the same reaction as this turtle nun the first time I saw The Last Jedi, but I'm going to give it another viewing tomorrow because my Sideshow Freaks friends tell me it's better the second time around.

....but but that doesn’t explain why they didn’t die and Luke did. They were force projections, which is why they could see each other, touch each other and tried to fight each other they weren’t linking minds like Vader and Luke or Leia and luke

Again, *they weren't using the power,* Snoke was, and he was obviously powerful enough to handle it for the short conversations they had. Kylo specifically indicated that it's the instigator of the power who could be killed, not the benefactor or recipient.

That force projection power is very confusing then, I don’t like the concept but I can sort of buy being able to project an image of yourself but two other people and these conversations your fake astral projections have become engrained in the consciousness of the real people as if they were their own projections... very confounding. And ya the amount of force needed to summon such projection should have caused snoke to explode. I still don’t get why Luke died doing it one time unless they were trying to show Luke as a weakling Jedi nothing compared to snokes power in the force

Perhaps Snoke was weakened by using the projection technique, hence why Kylo was able to kill him. Fan fiction is fun. :lol

Yes it is. :lecture

SW has always given us morsels to ponder and blanks to fill in ourselves. Like the bounty hunter on Ord Mandell. Was it Fett? Bossk? Someone not in the movie? Everyone gets to decide for themselves.

Well I'll leave that to you to decide whether or not you like the power. But the film did establish that Luke died while performing a potentially lethal heroic act as opposed to just keeling over for no reason.

And to think, he could have just been there in person, an even more heroic act. ;)

Well I prefer him just dying from Too much green milk, then dying a weak Jedi that couldn’t handle a single force projection, while his adversary, who also died very anticlimactically, was able to conjure projections up the yingyang no harm no foul. Kylo said what he did because only a powerful force user could survive the technique and he did not believe rey was strong enough to pull it off with out dying.. and neither was Luke freakin skywalker apparently

Risking your life is risking your life. Attempting to arrive in person would have helped no one if:

1. He didn't get there in time
2. He was blown away by the AT-AT's

The movie didn't even suggest that he actually owned a real lightsaber anymore.

It's a movie, they can write anything.
