Could Obi Wan only run fast when he was near QuiGon lol

That whole running fast thing is such an oddity in Star Wars. Causes so many problems if you start to think about it.

This astral projection thing also creates problems when you start to think about why no one ever used it before.

Could have come in 'handy' for Mace certainly. In fact, why ever fight in real life as a Jedi? Just stand somewhere nearby so you don't exhaust yourself projecting across a galaxy. Many fights could be stopped before they even begin. Ben could have projected himself behind Panda Baba and tapped him on the shoulder, then simply pulled Luke away without having to draw his saber and cut off an innocent Walrus' hand. The list goes on and on.

Then again, if Ben could run super fast, he could have just pulled Luke outta there lightning fast.

Wait how do we know that Yoda was ever really on Dagobah maybe he never really died he just ended his force 8K projection!

Shame Tarkin wasn’t part of that ancient religion lol

Is it not just possible.....hear me out.....POSSIBLE....that Jedi did not know every power the force could grant??

Force projection may be a recent (and possibly surprise) power? That could effect people differently?

I do recall someone names Qui Gon learning how to become a force ghost and teaching the almighty Yoda how to do this?

Didn’t Palps somehow learn mysterious powers like force lightning?
Why do the Jedi not use force lightning? Seems badass and should be a great talent?

Is it so unreal and unacceptable that new powers are being discovered ?

That's how I rationalize it too. Speaking of which, it'd be nice to see Qui-Gon's ghost sometime. Maybe in the Obi-Wan solo film/s.

For me a beta male is a man who is afraid of their own shadow so they will most definately feel threatened by a strong woman.

Yes, always a good chuckle watching college kids wax eloquent about how walking out of a movie because a chick berated a dude makes them a "real man." I think it's great that women are headlining so many top box office hits but I also appreciate JL's gratuitous butt shots of Gal Gadot so win win I guess, lol.

You forgot the pew pew pews :lol

Yup all of a sudden Luke’s journey has been elevated into this untouchable sacred narrative.

Ummm by now everyone knows about the fun silly serials Lucas was copying for SW.

The pew pew pews have been better handled with the ST then the PT but not as good as the OT that simple.

I did forget to spell out the "pew pew" stuff, lol. Yeah, delivering on those cover a multitude of sins. I even agree with the some of the criticisms against TFA that the pew pews were lacking in parts.

The PT dropped the ball so many times on expanding the abilities of the Jedi. Other than the split second Force run and Darth Maul's Force push it was just lightsabers, levitation, and lightning. Yawn. In the *real* unfilmed prequels they probably did all kinds of cool stuff that kept them alive and kicking for some many centuries in such a high tech universe. I like to think that Luke's astral projection would have been something so difficult and powerful that a select few Jedi in generations past would have ever been capable of it.

Wait you're seriously coming here for that!?? That theater is only 17 minutes away from me!! :rock :rock

I’m still team Khev though...

:chase

I honestly don't see why. I'm more intelligent, better looking, wittier, have better arguments, higher T levels and have a much bigger dolly collection.

You'd have more fun going to the movies with me than that supreme gentleman. Be honest Jye, have you been paid off or blackmailed? Show me on this doll where he touched you. If you can't talk, blink twice!

My advice as someone who dislikes bigotry, is to avoid the moral high ground altogether. Shaming anonymous geeks posting on a forum for $300 designer toys isn't going to get you anywhere. Consider the absurdity of the last few pages. People defending this moronic film are suggesting that those engaging in "fandom" are dumb as bricks... and yet they're posting on a forum for $300 action figures? :lol

When dealing with bigotry, it's always more effective to handle it as a rational issue than a moral one. Articulate why there is no correlation between X and a person's race. Then, make fun of them. It's more effective. Personally, I blame inbreeding. :rotfl
Taking a comment and generalizing it further, beyond it’s original intent, makes you a clown. Don’t be a clown. We have one.

Because I know you’re just going to retort with some kind of nonsense, go back and read what I actually wrote. Think carefully on the wording and then comprehend the trash you spat out midway through. In the end, a few simple words alter the perspective quite a bit.

Warping another’s stance, even if only slightly tilted on its axis, for your own agenda or sense of self-righteousness is a wee bit conceited. Furthermore, you yourself then go on to essentially offhandedly place a label upon others, twice. Avoiding the moral high ground be damned indeed.

But this seems to be a trend for you. Taking my profound distaste for modern fanbases and using it as your plaything or weapon. Keep in mind, I’m very aware I’m part of these fanbases. I don’t have to like all of their viewpoints and they don’t have to like mine. I will certainly call out their stupidity when I get the chance though.

And on that note. Why are you still here exactly? On this forum, I mean? If all of this triviality is getting to you... there’s a door.

And let’s not forget “Force Skyping” was shown several times in ESB.

Using the Force is a craft. Tuning into it is the first step for a Jedi. Mastering the full potential takes many lifetimes.

Hence, it is essentially evolving as does a civilization. Yoda was one of the most powerful Jedi, due to his reverence for the Force and the tutelage throughout his long life. Granted, near the end his power slightly faltered.

Still, not even he knew everything about the Force.

No but what if Rian Johnson ...... was a Trekkie?

Yea you guys never thought about that huh? A Star Trek fan wanting to kill Luke Skywalker? Come on it’s the perfect way to gain rep. Star Trek fans have laid in wait for a chance. It’s been a war since the 70s right? What if Rian infiltrated the ranks and wanted to destroy the fans hearts cause he’s not a bad director...... but a Star Trek fan. Think about it.

You don’t hear a whole lot from Star Trek geeks do you? They are in hiding.

If I were a hardcore Star Trek fan I would become a director just to **** up the lore to. Isn’t there a Star Trek show coming soon or something? Yea our boy Rian wants to boost ratings.

I'm actually thinking about starting the original Star Trek series after how disappointing Star Wars has been and watching the parody episode of it in Black Mirror. If I start it, I want to see how far I get and how much I like.

I know I have similar tastes to a-dev and he seems to love it, so it might be worth a shot.

I'm assuming, like any living person, Luke is aware of when he feels like he's okay and when he feels like he's dying. I guess he used his time accordingly to see his sister one last time or "chatting and wasting time."

But what you've written is the evasion in a nutshell: on the one hand you say that force projection can kill you quickly, that's it's this super-deadly thing - in a matter of minutes. But on the other hand you're defending the idea that a guy who is doing something akin to holding his breath underwater - every second edging him closer to death (you mentioned 5 mins as possibly killing Ben in your previous post) - is sitting down to have a non-essential chat, regardless of who it's with.

Because - you presume - he's "aware of when he feels like he's okay"? Like... you're holding your breath underwater, every second is CRITICAL, and you've got a ton of stuff to do for your plan to save everyone, but... you take your time doing things and you have a farewell chat with gentle wry humor (which comes naturally when you're dying by the second of course,) because you're aware of when you "feel okay" and can use your time "accordingly."

No, actually... you don't. If force projection can kill you even in a few minutes - as you're stating - you hurry to the extreme, you don't sit down and chat. You don't slowly walk out. You don't have gentle wry humor. Because that's filmmakers "having their cake and eating it too" and fans blindly accepting things that make little to no sense.

That's why I so eloquently call it garbage, and that's why you resort to bringing up things like "you're really preoccupied with what room he's in" - because the whole idea of force projection as presented doesn't make sense and you know it.

No one has to justify why Luke has to die. The moment Kylo sees Rey he states that the effort would kill her. Immediately he knows it. So it's stated right there that it can quickly be fatal. That's the script.

Oh, it's in the script? What a COINCIDENCE they would have added that.:lol

But no, force texting between Kylo and Rey - using smartphones provided by Snoke and on his data allowance - ISN'T comparable to what Luke does himself AT ALL, even though they deliberately and blatantly drop in that "the effort would kill you" line for apologists to latch onto... for just such a discussion as this one.:lol

But they shot themselves in the foot by doing it - Kylo clearly aware of the possibility of force texting and even detailed knowledge the risks/rules of it (and the suggestion of some equality between force texting and projection) falls flat when Kylo is later totally shocked that Luke isn't really there, apparently totally unaware of even the possibility of force projection. Like, hello Kylo... ?:slap

The TRUTH of the matter is, if Ben had force projection at his disposal in ANH, he WOULD have used it - why wouldn't he? Oh, but no - he wouldn't tell them on Alderaan about absolutely urgent, CRITICAL info about the plans and Leia... because it risked a "confusing sudden appearance to royalty"? Come on, dude.:slap:lol

As if Luke abruptly appearing in a surrounded, air-tight sealed off base, with a black beard and not telling a soul about his plan, why he's there, or how he got past the FO ships - is not confusing and sudden?

Force projection....so if Luke went in a saarlac...he could force project himself for a 1000 years....and do stuff....lol..

Wish Negan just cracked Luke's skull with Lucille...would a made for a mo betta and classy ending..lol
