Re: Star Wars Episode VIII (Dec 15th, 2017)

Like the training remote on the Falcon in ANH.

:lol

In regards to this scene did anyone wonder why Luke has no skin on his robotic hand anymore

Well, he is all alone in a deserted island...

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII (Dec 15th, 2017)

No, I just thought he disregarded the skin so as to constantly remind him of his father and cost for turning to the dark side.

Either that or got tired of replacing it every time it got damaged.

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII (Dec 15th, 2017)

Rumour round-up:
So Rey is Luke's daughter. He thought Kylo killed her with knights of Ren, but actually he saved her from another knight, killing one of his own and then hiding her on Jakku (vision in TFA). Jakku had a secret Imperial underground bunker, full of stuff the Emperor had stolen from the galaxy (a la the Nazi's). That's why the battle took place there, why he knew it. (This is confirmed in one of the official books) Perhaps there are sith artifacts buried there.
When the knights of Ren (a group of students who formed their own little Oxford like gang who researched the sith) burned the Jedi temple to the ground, Luke was overcome by pain and anguish, he went into hiding, knowing that Solo and Leia's son had killed his daughter (and possibly wife). He couldn't face seeing either han or Leia again, which explains their situations and reactions in TFA. And finally according to the leaked TFA screenplay, Luke knew exactly who rey was and what she was doing by the end of TFA. He had sensed her awakening I guess on the Starkiller base and realised his daughter was alive. Snoke had told Ren that he had to kill his family in order to proceed with his training. Vader's only mistake was his emotional attachment to his loved ones. Ren knew this was already an issue as he had hid Rey from danger and potentially allowing a force strong jedi to flourish and eventually come back to kill them both. This is real greek mythology stuff, where you don't kill your adversary, you leave them on an island so they can come back for revenge many years later. :)
There will be against snow battle (mirroring TESB) which is why JJ cut the snow chase scenes from TFA.

Snoke isn't a sith as stated, he is a force consuming entity who is returning from the netherworld by consuming the living energy of the galaxy, dark or light. Ren doesn't know this, he thinks he is helping an ancient sith return. (confirmed in parts by the novelisation which describes his face as being in the process of recreation, restructuring). It seems to be playing into that old cliche about a gang of students playing with a Ouija and resurrecting a demon, a spirit which lies to them telling them it is something else.

this entity may or may not be Plagueis, but he has been around for a long time, he watched the clone wars unfold and watched Vader and the Emperor rise to power.

...anything else?

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII (Dec 15th, 2017)

That's very interesting. Was it stated anywhere what the age difference between Rey and Ren is?

Yes, Pablo Hidalgo has stated that their age difference is about 10 years and that in TFA Ben Solo/Kylo Ren is 29-30 and Rey is 19-20.

TFA takes place about 32 years after ROTJ and 29 years after The Battle of Jakku (the last major battle between the Rebellion and Imperials). Which means, yes, there is about 3 years of Rebels vs Empire stories they could tell after ROTJ should they so choose.

i
If Snoke isn't Plagueis it'll be a missed opportunity to tie the whole saga together. Anakin's immaculate conception was never fully explained.

We will have the last laugh.

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII (Dec 15th, 2017)

Snooki being Plagueis would be pretty cool, but I don't think it's him, he looks too different.

I like the idea of Darth Vader's deformed corpse with the dark side half of his soul being Snooki. That would explain why he was able to become one with the force after all the nasty **** he did.

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII (Dec 15th, 2017)

Snoke in Vader's reconstructed body.

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII (Dec 15th, 2017)

OT. PT. ST. Clone Wars. Rebels.
Books being released in conjunction with the new movies.

Isn't that the real canon?
