Still. Imagine you're wearing a buggy suit, surounded by green foam, and have to pretend to kill your space-smuggler dad with a fake space-sword, to become a full-fledged dark space-wizard. It gets worse in the Marvel and DC stuff:

IDK, I think it would be pretty cool to dawn the costumes etc.. I'm sure any of 'em give two ****s about the story, (they shoot out of order and scripts get rewritten on set a lot of time) and just make sure the lines are memorized. I guess if they didn't like playing dress up, they wouldn't do it? :lol

I get why Driver and Ford had to be shot greenscreen but come on CW, send the actors to a real freaking airport. They exist.

Right? And get RDJ's ass back in an actual suit! as much as I love CW (one of, if not my favorite MCU flick) it gets major knocks for the atrocious CGI.

10/10 IF the CGI was less rampant.

8/10 Because it's too distracting.

In action flicks lightning plays an important role. I guess they wanted to filter it, and just putting those "lightboxes" in an airport wouldn't make the job easier. Green Screen solves tons of problems.

From interviews and whatnot, they all get giddy when they put on the costumes. I guess they learn to block out the ridiculoussness of the situation, and just have fun.

Well...that's not really Cameron or the film's fault now is it?

I mean Star Wars itself is blamed for countless uninspired piggy backers and the dumbing down of the entire film industry itself. JAWS too.

I guess. But Star Wars and the like were made to be kiddy fair whether we like it or not. A L I E N was not.

It's Cameron's fault that he opened the possibilities to kiddy fair.

Honestly, I was a big fan of Cameron, like in the 80's. But I don't feel his films have really aged well in the viewing department for me. Terminator actually fairs the best for me (which I'm surprised about because I was a big T2 lover for many years). I haven't been able to sit through T2 or Aliens in a decade.

I think Avatar really poisoned the "grunt" well for me.

I miss that guy. He was an ass but he kept the threads entertaining. I believe snikt is probably nova but I'm still not sure. They aren't in the same room together. Then I remember that hardcore Nolan fanboy intovoid who difabio and others would shoot down every time he said tdkr was the best movie ever. Then there was..... nam..... who probably got sick of all of you and just left. Hope he's doing good.

Got on my nerves to.

i dont miss celtic one single bit. it just feels better without getting insulted daily for no reason, he lacked a sense of humor and he fought everyone for everything.
if he was here then it would be nothing but endless aggressive fights with Gaspar or darthkostis or snikt... there wasnt a single day that celtic didnt fight, that cant be good for your health.

Oh, I see.

This post makes more sense now.

Also, I had no idea just saying stuff like that could get someone banned?

It seems to me that the best way to commit forum suicide is to post XXX pics. I've seen that a few times :lol

the banning of AIR was the funniest Ive seen. unfortunately i wasnt online when celtic spammed anime xxx pics :lol:lol

I guess that's all they really can do. :lol

I'm sure 90% of the actors in the MCU get the scripts, ask themselves, "what the **** did I just read?" then see the blank paycheck and the cool spandex suit and just say "eh, **** it". :lol

I can see where you're coming from. The first movie in a franchise always gets a pass because it sets the tone. And it's usually considered respectable when additional entries get more mature (ESB/RO) vs. the other way around (ROTJ/TPM, etc.) Like if a sequel to Ex Machina came out and it was this big Ghost in the Shell popcorn epic with Ava flying around and blowing people away. Even if it was a very well done action movie I could see myself still being somewhat annoyed at the direction they chose to go.

Is that where you're at with ALIENS?

I kinda did that once with a Mod over at CBR. He was giving me crap for posting an American Psycho gif and gave me the "obey the rules son, or yur' gon', ya understan", so I spammed him some Dylan Ryder and Ava Addams gifs over at PM. He IP banned me, but that was my parents' home adress (Christmas), so I'm still visiting the site from my place. It's still the same PC hellhole, but eh, it's funny being under his nose. The mods over there are generally very agressive, and have banned the majority of old users. Maybe they're MarvelShills, 'cause the only remaining members are full-on "yaaaass queeen Carol" posters...

I'm sure 90% of the actors in [every pop-culture related flick] get the scripts, ask themselves, "what the **** did I just read?" then see the blank paycheck and the cool spandex suit and just say "eh, **** it". :lol

FTFY. But yeah, that's probably true. :lol

What aspect of Aliens necessarily opened the franchise up to kiddy fare though? Soldiers and guns? Soldiers cracking jokes? Platoon and Saving Private Ryan deal with soldiers and guns, and those are adult films.

the shoots take hours and hours so i wonder if they start to go crazy with all that green around

Didn't Force Awakens sell itself as the return to real sets lol

I think the cliché nature of the team, the 'Cowboys + Indians' shootem' up... easily transferable to "war" concept and "us vs them" mentality that young boys just eat up. Also, the downgrading of the Alien to a "horde"... and creating a "Big Boss" which kiddies also love.

i know this is sacrilege but for me the one i cant watch too often is ALIEN. i own all 4 alien movies and ALIEN is my least watched,
(that alien box has a lot of dust) ive watched aliens the most followed by extended cut of alien 3.

alien is obviously better but i just dont have as much of a good time

"Mostly." :lol

And I just watched ALIENS about a week ago. Still totally holds up for me.

ALIENS is a far better action film and film period than most superhero films and most any action sci fi film ever made...it is holding up brilliantly
Cameron at his very best
