That's the sixty four thousand-dollar question. Will he still wanna go through with his promise to Ren? I think after a few days of alone time with her the answer is no. Why condemn the galaxy to darkness when the one thing that brings you light is around again? Unfortunately, I fear someone else will finish the deed. Someone that's currently in the shadows as a backup, in case Rey's immortal beloved doesn't fulfill his end of the bargain.
I think Episode IX will be all about that. About Rey
turning Snoke back to the Light and in doing so giving the good guys a fighting chance against this Ren entity. In fact, I have a theory about why Luke will survive TLJ.
At the end of IX, when the heroes are seemingly helpness in the face of The Ancient Fear unleashed, its ironically the very gift that Ren granted Snoke which will save the day. It hit me when the rumor broke that Snoke feeds off Force-users like a vampire and that because there are such few Force-sensitives around at this point he hasn't been able to fully heal himself.
So I think it'll play out like this: Inside some creepy Sith temple, the heroes will witness Ren crawl out of some black hole. He'll then fatally wound Snokula for betraying him. Snoke will lay in some corner dying in Rey's arms while Luke and Kylo stare at each other, completely helpless and hopeless. The galaxy is doomed because nobody in the room has the power to face something so powerful. Snoke will say "I wish I had the power to save you, my love." Then Luke will walk over to Snoke and say "Here it is. Take it. Take it all. Rey and Kylo know exactly what that means. They both cry. Rey pleads with Luke that there must be some other way. He hugs her goodbye. Kylo honors Luke by shaking his hand and nodding his head (Sarah Connor T2 style). Luke then looks down at Snoke and puts out his good arm. Snoke grabs it and then a massive beam of Light encases the two. Snoke's wounds heal but something else happens. He becomes young again and is fully restored to his original form as he was when he and the Jedi crusaded against Ren, and when he met Rey. The two Force powerhouses fight. Snoke vanquishes Ren for good and then becomes one with The Force, after saying his goodbyes to Rey Ghost-style. Kylo and Rey have a "Holy Grail" child and the war between Light and Dark is finally over as the Whills willed it. The End.
It just dawned on me after watching this trailer 100x already plus all the reaction videos that fans are watching these trailers with awe, excitement and respect of how the property is being handled regardless of their feelings with TFA.
.........What a huge turn around on SW Disney has accomplished.
Hate Kylo all you want but at least no is pointing and laughing at Adam Driver.
If Hayden does turn out to be in this movie at least he will be in capable hands.
I wish Disney would just dump 200 million on PT and fix them up nicely, Anakins story should be told appropriately.
Yeah, negativity and snark may be *trendy and fun* but IMO credit where credit is due. And maybe my opinion don't count 'coz I'm not a "true Star Wars fan" like I can't reel off entire history etc. and think Driver's Kylo Ren is awesome (complicated and full of angst) and I like the new cast etc.
and I'm not having a meltdown over the toys (own HT Rey and Kylo anyway + a DV flash drive AND a collectible popcorn bucket from Rogue One):
*Warning this is a long vid and not sure what the guy is tryin' to say, really, everyone turns out junk now about everything and toys are way overpriced you just hafta shop carefully* https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hNAji3lIGE
But. My money counts at the BO same as anyone's. I wasn't excited when the news came out that Disney would revisit SW and now I own the TFA Blu-Ray, and looking forward to Last Jedi.
Watched the trailer at least 10x now and the only thing that I would have liked to see or rather heard was a snippet of Vader's theme. Especially when aren't picks up the lightsaber hilt.
