Actually, it does affect you, since this is Disney telling you what you can or can't see in a movie theatre..

LOL....dramatic much? Most theaters have dozens of screens playing multiple movies all day long....

Yeah, I know it sounds overly dramatic, but that's how monopolies start, and that's how they work...
If you take into account all the stuff Disney owns, it's not far-fetched to think that most of us are watching what Disney tells us to watch most of the time.

Actually it is very far fetched.....

You can watch whatever you want ....plenty of other studios making films.

Try a small theater and go see an Indy film .......

I agree they make a lot of content.....but they are far from big brother of the media world.

Lol Jye, you don't know just how true that is.

Here's mama Kathleen on the future:

*possible spoilers*

"We’re sitting down now, we’re talking about the next ten years of Star Wars stories, and we’re looking at narratively where that might go," Kennedy says. "Future stories beyond Episode IX with these new characters: Rey, Poe, Finn, BB-8. But we’re also looking at working with people that are interested in coming into the Star Wars world and taking us to places that we haven’t been yet. And that’s exciting too because its a vast galaxy far, far away, so the possibilities are endless."

So I don't think his is a surprising turn of events. They're going to milk the main saga past IX as well as she implied keeping on the current cast of characters. So I guess all of them make out alive huh? Except for no mention of Kylo...

There's more Star Wars than ever before, but for the first time I feel it's truly dead.

I watched that interview lastnight my jaw hit the ground because as far as i’m concerned she went and spoiled VIII and IX!

She should be fired for that statement.

She definitely should be fired for that as well as all the mess ups with rehiring and firing directors / extensive reshoots etc. I think anyone else would be, but we know it won't happen to her. I think she was a good assistant to Lucas and Spielberg but shouldn't have been given the reins to anything.

If Star Wars had always been treated as an opened ended saga like MCU, I think I'd be ok with this unsurprising news, but the original trilogy had a start and an end, the prequels were good for an opportunity to see how things wound up where they were in the OT, despite execution issues. Episode 7-9 have always felt unnecessary as the Skywalker story felt concluded, successfully. To hear they may drag it out to 10-12 or something is just crazy, from a storytelling standpoint, but, I guess kids and teens don't care about a story with end and such and gladly will flock to more adventures.

It'll be interesting to see if an Episode 10 is made and flops on the shoulders of new characters only.

Like having more SW stories is a bad thing.....more Sci Fi and you guys are complaining????

Geez....

Bring it on.....I have fun with every one of them.....

Being episode IX isn’t fully written yet did she spoil a thing?

Star Wars apparently mean war in the stars .....not the saga of Luke.

Depending on what Star Wars is to you as a viewer, yeah. For me, Star Wars was the story of Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader when the OT was all we had, then it became the saga of Anakin Skywalker and it worked because the PT flowed right into the overall story of the OT, a story of evil undone.

So if that's what Star Wars is to you as a viewer, then these other stories are overkill and oversaturation. When LFL was private, things were different, when Disney took over, they start pushing SW on the market more so than Lucas ever had. I was grocery shopping the other day and there were ****ing napkins and paper towels with BB-8 on them, you can't buy simple, common groceries without Star Wars shoved in your face.

It just feels like an effort to make as much money as possible off something lucrative and not storytelling for the sake of storytelling.

While i’m not complaining about more SW after IX she absolutely spoiled VIII and IX by stating they’re working on future stories with Rey, Poe, Finn and BB8 while leaving out Kylo.

Ok so Rey, Poe. Finn and BB8 live and Kylo dies thanks Kathleen.

NO WAIT...WAIT!

WAIT JUST ONE ******* SECOND HERE!

Timing of interview is highly suspect.

Yup I sense another misdirection this was!

Lucasfilm is really playing dirty this time out lol.

Between fake disgruntled Hamill, fake Rian saying don’t watch trailer because it gives too much away and now fake spoilery Kathleen Kennedy this is a hoot!

All this to protect the real darksider of the group.

I’m onto these duckers.

Maybe your too young to remember....

The original OT was the same....

SW
Sheets
Napkins and plates also
Underwear
Bath soap
Puzzles
Games
Enemas....

Lucas pretty much invented merchandising......

If you hate Disney, I can respect that, but hate for a reason.....there is too much Disney hate for stuff that Lucas and Fox did for generations already.

Star Wars: War in the stars.

It does not mean the Saga of Luke....

Glad to see the expansion of the universe...
