7 8 and 9 would have been much better had lucas actually made them when the original cast was still in their prime... instead he did nothing but milk the OT for years eg special edition re run in theaters, by the time he wanted to make new ones the original cast was too old to tell the continuation story that he had penned many many years ago. So he ditched 7 8 9 and did the prequels. Had he done 7 8 and 9 shortly after rotj ended we would have had more compelling stories with the characters we love so much...

Instead of doing the prequels he should have done the sequel trilogy 1999-2005. The prequels could have been done any time really.

Lucas didn't want to do the Sequel trilogy because he knew there was no where to go with the Skywalker story. No where good anyway. How do you top the OT? How do you top Vader and the Death Star? Hell, even Lucas re-borrowed his own device for the third installment back in 1983.

But if you think this ST is bad, wait until they try to push out even father with 10-12. The son of Rey.... Daisy as an adult... Maz returns... more Porgs... and if you haven't had enough of R2 and 3PO, you will.

Instead of doing the prequels he should have done the sequel trilogy 1999-2005.

In an alternate universe/reality Lucas made SW movies in the 90's with the original cast. In that same universe Keaton made Batman 3 and Arnold and Stallone were in Face Off, instead of Travolta and Cage.

After doing Episodes IV-VI he had to do I-III. Especially considering he didn't know if he'd do a third trilogy, he had to at least complete the first six.

Plus I like the idea of a different generation in each trilogy.

Meanwhile, after JJ said he'd wrap up the saga with Ep IX, KK is already looking ahead:

Speaking during an interview with The Star Wars Show, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy stated the franchise will continue with its newly-introduced characters - specifically mentioning Rey, Finn, Poe and BB-8, so make of that what you will - well beyond Episode IX, and that the studio is currently "looking at the next 10 years" of Star Wars films and spinoffs.

Prequels meet sequels (again) in the Star Wars comics. After Darth Maul tangled with a Rathtar, that looks like a Neimoidian in this upcoming Poe Dameron issue:

Buddy what is with ur signature? I don’t remember that part happening in the matrix. Also I can’t stop staring at it

I'm at fever pitch. Tickets booked!
Love the trailers, it looks like interesting SW again, I mean I completely see all the issues that TFA had. But hopefully that not so soft reboot will pay off in this one.
Rian is probably the best director ever to touch the Star Wars franchise, I'm certainly more than willing to go along for the ride. Loved Kylo in the last one and it looks like Driver is going full throttle in this one, and every line of dialogue I've heard so far is top notch. Only thing I find lets me cold right now is Finn, he just seems to be there to wahooo every now and again when blowing up something.
And yes, I like the wookie-porg in the last trailer. :rock

Rory you excited for this or are your insides also dead and rotted lol

May the Porg be with you.

Anyways for those bitching about Disney’s greedy 60-65% theater demands for TLJ get this....

Lucas demanded and received 100% of tickets sales from the theaters for TPM opening weekend.

He told them they would profit plenty from the increased traffic for concessions.

Now that’s a true gangster lol

Have we established yet whether these little ****ers get eaten in the movie? Or was that feather on Chewie's mouth from giving some porg love?

Both. The Porg are just like the Froopyland creatures in Rick and Morty. Luke's been screwing them and eating them in perpetuity.
