The subtext that Disney added in that last isolated scene is what will truly undo Star Wars.
The toy commercial?

There's new articles pooping up in the last hour saying how much fans are hating it - calling it the worst ever made... and I think this will just be the beginning.

I have friends who are life long fans who are saying they're done with Star Wars.
It just hit me last night ...
Star Wars has always played fast and loose with physics, so really this is nothing, but ...
Why do the Resistance ships stop when they run out of fuel? They're in space! They'd just keep going, forever!
The First Order plan, the basis of the 'tension' for the entire movie, would never have worked. I know, I know. Explosions in space. Space opera. It really doesn't matter. Feel free to drag me for worrying about it. But the thought has entered my brain, and that aspect is going to annoy me forever now There is sound and fire in space because of the 'language of cinema'. There is faster than light travel so that the interstellar setting works. Leia keeps floating away after she gets sucked into space. But the ships stop like they are trucks on a highway? Oh, the mild nerdy annoyance. And I know it is the dumbest thing to worry about. If the movie was great I would hand-wave that away.
A friend just described the First Order vs Resistance thing as 'exciting as a hot air balloon chase' and that rings true to me

I don't get why a Star Destroyer didn't do a short light speed jump ahead and then back to be in front of the Rebel fleet and just blast them.
I could never be done with Star Wars.
Me either...
I'm looking forward to Solo. I bet those gold dice from the Falcon will play a part in the film next year...

Like I always say: nobody hates SW more than ironically the most die hard of SW fans. Your friends are a testament to this.
