Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi SPOILER DISCUSSION THREAD

Rose was really a very forgettable character. I was kind of pissed when they suggested that she's still alive. I'm holding out hope that it was a corpse Finn put a blanket over, but I'm doubting it.

That scene made me realised that Rey was in love with Finn or so? She looks jealous when she saw Finn caring for Rose.

Here are some questions I would like answered.....from the people who feel it ruined their childhood....

1. Do you have to be a certain bloodline to use and be powerful with the force?

2. How long do you have to be trained to be a effective force user?

3. Are their force users with natural ability or does everyone have to be trained by a master? What happens to people who are not trained?

Almost every one of these posts that have delved into trying to answer all the questions left unanswered by Episodes 7 and 8 have had more thought and effort put into them than the actual filmmakers did.

They simply do not care. It's not art. It's a job. It's just their boring 9-5 that they have to go to. So they do the bare minimum and churn something out. Product. Money. Budget. Gross.

JJ Abrams doesn't care. Rian Johnson doesn't care.

Imagine if you were really Luke. And some stranger came up and handed you the lightsaber that Obi Wan Kenobi gave you. Your father's lightsaber. The one you haven't seen for over 30 years since your own father sliced your hand off in what was probably the single most traumatic and important moment of your life. You remember losing this lightsaber, along with your effing hand, as it fell down a bottomless chasm. You never ever thought you'd see that lightsaber again.

So this woman hands it to you. You hold it. Examine it. It's real. It's the same saber.

Wouldn't you blurt out "Where in the **** did you get this thing?? How did you get this?? Who the hell are you?? Do you even know what this is??"

Nope. No. Just toss it.

So how did Rey come to get that lightsaber? She got it from lemon butthole face. OK. How did SHE get it?

JJ doesn't care. Rian doesn't care. Not important.

We've got porgs and horse-things and crystal foxes, aren't they awesome? Oh, you don't like the plot holes? Get over it fanboy. It's not important.

Thank god you have Broom Boy now to make it all better.

Broom Boy is hands down the lowest point for the SW saga. Lower than Kitster and the rest of the Tatooine slave boy gang ditching Ani's pod racer presentation to play ball.

Totally agree here. She seems like a lovely person in real life and all but that character was pretty pointless and the boring subplot held Finn back. If you had to pee during the movie, those scenes were the time to do it.

The thread is fun....so much anger.

Last memories of Luke is an awkward scene of him milking a sea monster then drinking it’s milk, getting bested by Rey on and on.....

As a fan of Anakin / Vader you can understand the disappointment us fans suffered when it was revealed him being a broken down old man (RoTJ) then his portrayal on the majority of the PT. SW Justice.....f the Skywalkers 😊

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi SPOILER DISCUSSION THREAD

Seriously people going ape s#### on Tumblr over Reylo with all these drawings, memes, gifs etc.. I think it played out beautifully , but let’s get back to reality, nothing is edged in stone yet.

Suppose Abrams shuts Reylo down for good or early in EP IX ..then what will the fans think :lol

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi SPOILER DISCUSSION THREAD

As far as the misplaced humor, again, K2-SO is how you do it, not “holding for Hux”.

This a million times over. The humor was so bad and distracting

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi SPOILER DISCUSSION THREAD

I honestly didn't have a problem with the "floating Leia" scene and found it to be one of the few truly magical moments in the movie. It clearly seemed to be suggesting that Leia was much stronger in the Force than probably anybody else we've seen, and I imagine that was something we would have seen explored more in Ep IX. And the idea that Force powers can only be limited to what we've already seen in six previous movies just seems kinda silly to me.

Ultimately my problem with the movie was much more with the pacing of it and how much it seemed to drag in places, than with what happened in the plot or with the characters. There were definitely some odd choices here and there, but there's nothing that leaves me feeling outraged over what happened like with others here.

Mostly I just feel kinda... meh about the movie. :dunno

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi SPOILER DISCUSSION THREAD

Kylo is gone totally insane....he is the new Emperor essentially. He will be in charge.

Rey may try to win him back but I think after Luke thats over also......it will be straight up Rey Vs Kylo....

Simple.

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi SPOILER DISCUSSION THREAD

Leia's ability to pull herself to a door is the same ability as any Jedi or Sith when they 'grab' a lighsaber and it flies across the room. Which seems like a day 1 lesson, and that lesson took leia 30 years' and a near death experience to learn. Not sure how that makes her have 'super' jedi powers.

Luke as a force ghost in EP IX ..I know it will be, but why does it seem so wrong :thud:

So true. So out of place. Just... the final twist of the knife.

Hey -- you change your avatar. crows can relax now.

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi SPOILER DISCUSSION THREAD

If only Luke had done the universe a giant favour and killed the annoying Kylo in his sleep.
