How is asking you to exit the franchise if you hate so much a personal attack? If your feelings are so fragile then you really shouldn't hang out here.

Khev has already tried to exhaustively explain why Rey has so much potential in the Force. The movie also explained that and I already explained why Kylo wasn't trying to beat Rey in TFA in the first place. Khev also added to that.

How about this? Explain how the **** Luke was able to start blocking blaster bolt within hours of starting his Force training? Does that look like he spent a decade of his life getting there? Don't even get me started on how he was able to even pilot an X-wing into battle without any actual combat training either.

Luke was also able to force grab his lightsaber in ESB despite Obi Wan not being around to teach him. Why don't you complain about that?

Exactly.....good points. All the OT plot holes are forgotten when whined about around TLJ. The ones whining about how Snoke got killed forget that Vader picked up the Emperor like he was a toddler kicking and just threw him over a balcony.

Is not even about carbon copies or bvs fans, the plot was just all over the place making no sense what so ever, I got distracted by Justin Theroux and Im like whats he going to do.

So you're gonna bash the OT to defend this garbage?

LMAO WTF is going in this planet????

Saw it. I thought it was okay. Certainly the visuals were nice, but I have a lot of narrative issues that I need to ruminate on for a bit.

I did have one nagging question, that I thought maybe I missed because I kept having distracted thoughts throughout the film...but

Luke says he came to the island to die essentially (maybe just being melodramatic), but it seemed pretty clear he didn't want to be found. If so...why did he create a map to find him? Just in case of emergencies? Was it ever referenced in this film?

Re: The Last Jedi

Well you're wrong. Loved Rogue One. Really liked TFA. I've come to the conclusion that people make silly assumptions when they see someone doesn't like what they do.

^^^ This

Since I avoided all spoilers prior to the film's release can someone enlighten me on the specifics of the rumored "Vampire Snoke" theory?

Allegedly apparently JJ was deeply into horror movies (Hammer - phantasm) when originating the story and then potentially the follow up movies from VII.
Snoke sucked the force powers out of light and dark to reconstruct himself. It does heavily suggest this reconstruction in the TFA novelisation.
It was ***-umed that this would be fleshed out in the next movie. Others may have taken that speculation further.

I don't care what he spends his money on. I don't even care if he liked the movie. We were just debating one detail in it.

Who made the map to Luke and why?

Really? Luke did it! They say that.

Gotcha. Thanks for clarifying. :duff

Snoke: [to Kylo Ren] You are no Vader. You are just a child in a mask.

Which sums up the generation this is aimed at. Luke went on long quest from farm boy to Jedi Master. Vader went through hell.

Kylo and Rey come from nowhere.

Luke commits suicide. It's the only way he can hope to become better than the new kids on the block.

You nailed it!

I haven’t taken any reference to OT as bashing ..... Certain issues glossed over in support the OT are being cherry picked in the new series. I can understand why folks point it out.

I’ll agree adding new jedi powers that hasn’t been seen thru seven other films can lead to questions and debates because they introduced glaring holes that need addressed. Why do we just see them with this group versus back in the hay day? How did they manifest etc.?

So Luke made the map to himself even though he didn't want to be found and went to he planet to die?

Hey! I had the same question.

Maybe he intended to have a a means for someone like his sister to find him, but as time went on, he just got deeper and deeper into his self pity and said **** it!

I'd be interested to know why he gave part of it to Max Von Sydow though....Guess I'll have to read a comic or something....

BR 2049 was the ****. Too bad Denis Villeneuve wasn't picked for Episode 8. Though his directing style seems more suited to Blade Runner than SW.

Best film I've seen this year by a LONG way. It was filmed in the way I was hoping the ST would play out. Deep, emotional and meaningful. Unfortunately we have received the complete opposite.

I actually explained this many pages ago. Luke did not make the map. He found the map of the first Jedi Temple location at some point after ROTJ in R2-D2. It was one of the files R2-D2 copied when he hacked into the Death Star in ANH.

Luke basically decided to go there to hide or search for answers, etc and the characters in TFA has been basically chasing for a map of the first Jedi Temple, not a map to Luke Skywalker.

People kept on saying the map to Luke Skywalker because they presumed that is where he went. Even Han said so himself.

So many guys on here really seem to hate women, funny since Star Wars was the rare movie in its day to showcase a strong outspoken female.

As you said Star Wars had a strong outspoken female lead way back when, and you never heard people complaining of it before because she was well written. Now that there are poorly written and shoehorned ones and people are complaining you assume all these men hate women. Heck Padme wasnt so well written and people didn't hate her because she was integral to the plot and not shoehorned in. The problem is with the defenders hurling out these baseless assumptions because they don't want to understand the hate. Don't attack people just because you don't agree.

What I see (with a few exceptions in every case) is people who didn't like it making valid points and the people who are defending it getting personal and calling the people who didn't like it loser cheeto encrusted nerds, women haters, people with too much time on their hands who want something to complain about etc.

And the bad reviews are 'trolls' or 'hackers' even tho if you look at this very thread or Reddit there are a lot of people with many issues with the movie.

I have two daughters and they want porg plushies as well and liked Rey and Finn(and love leia from before), whatever I may think of them (they hate Kylo). But they don't want a Rose figure or a Holdo figure for a reason.

And it's not because they 'hate women.'
