Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi - Lukia Skywalker?

In light of how the female lead characters are presented in the film, do you think Luke Skywalker would have been written differently if the character was a female?

Ask the question in TLJ thread.

There's no need for another pointless thread for this.

Ok thanks.. Guess I lost site of that because the ships they were in were useless so I thought driving a ship into the mini Death Star was the only way to stop it.

Those antique death traps were like the worst possible mismatch against the FO's brand new Mega-Walkers, I loved it. :) And Poe's speeder was the worst of them all, lol.

That was also the first battle where the good guys did NOT take out the bad guys' super death cannon.

He hated it so much reading the script a year before production even began that he made the movie anyways and brought along his kids to be in it.

he took the money and said it sucks...I wonder what Ford thinks of TLJ...Behold the power of the dark green cash...Jye for his money you'ld blow the lakers on Pay per view...coaches too LOL

this is very true. If you look at IM3, GOTG2, the last Thor movie etc, they are becoming silly movies, thin on character and plot development, and not memorable at all... but still entertaining for 2 hours vs TLJ which has gone to new lows IMO, even for Disney
They are basicly doing what people accuse DC of doing turning every movie in to a copy of the dark knight in terms of tone.

Now these fools want to apply the marvel formula to everything if it's funny and silly the kids will show up we can sell toys.

Thor Ragnarok is way over the top in my opinion in terms of jokes it's inserting humor to the point were it ruins the moment . But they were not that first iron man 3 was doing also were the villain was a joke.

I wonder if they intend to make infinity war the same foolish jokes.

How does RT score the critics?

A lot of the critics don't even grade the film in their original reviews. So RT assigns a grade to them?

The truth is coming out on that RT fan score no surprise really:

Hilarious.

This on the other hand isn't as funny.

It's disgusting.

This is exactly what happened with BVS, but that time the critics were part of it. Now that they're on other the side they're trying to decipher it but what they explained applies to BVS exactly. They created a negative consensus that had people hating the movie and some of its moments before they even went in to see it. And much like TLJ, BVS was a deconstruction of what came before. If you look at the BVS reviews when it came out so many of them were new accounts too, but people weren't critical of that at that point. So this doesn't mean anything yet, people are just trying to course correct in the way they believe. Time will tell where this truly falls, and looking at the divisive reaction without even looking at the reviews, it's still going to remain the most polarizing of the SW films from the writing on the wall.

Disney Star Wars...where dreams and wishes all come true

yet another case of "hey lets put a scene together where nothing really happens" :lol

More bad decisions made by our hero's whee it did not effect a single thing plot wise.

I am teasing you khev.

Kinda. :lol

To hoever loves this film but still hates prequels:

. . .

Hamill is just channeling Alec Guinness. It's tradition for the mentor Jedi to hate the SW movie they're in.
You're not Mister Fantastic, Khev. :wink1:
