Red Letter Media had all the same issues as everyone else.. Basically call it a mess of a film.. But the liked it overall... Seems to be what a lot of youtube reviewers say.. They complain about all the issues but ultimately they like it.. That is the power of Star Wars :)

Anyways here it is.

Is it wrong that I actually like Broom Boy more for being a white male? :lol

That was actually kind of a daring and unexpected move when you think about it, lol.

I’m even babbling about my likes of ROTS. :lol

Rian Johnson on the Luke throwing away the lightsaber moment:

"So, that leads you down a really specific path in terms of where his head is at. And if he’s done that and if he’s made this huge Herculean effort to pull himself out of the fight, to hide in, like he says, ‘The most unfindable place in the galaxy,’ it took an entire movie for the most heroic, smartest people in the galaxy to even find him, he’s put himself away. Then some kid shows up that he doesn’t know and shoves this thing that is everything that he has made this huge effort to step away from into his face with this look in her eyes of expectation like, ‘Here you go,’ and what is he going to do? Take it and say, ‘Great. Let’s go save the galaxy.’ He’s made this choice. He’s there for a reason. I knew it was going to be shocking, but I did it because it felt like, obviously it’s a dramatic expression of it, but it’s an expression of honestly the way that he is going to react to that moment."

That's all fine if that's Johnsons intention. The problem is he literally turned it into a joke, as those that approve think it's funny and people even laugh out loud in the audience. Regardless it should've been a serious moment, not a joke.

Well this is why Alec Guinness was mad at fans and for good reason, lol star wars fans are a plague

This thread is going by so fast but that’s something I brought up before.

I had said after all the complaints made about Haldol and Rose and they ended the movie on a white boy with powers. :lol

Re: The Last Jedi OBJECTIVELY sucks. Your feelings are irrelevant.

You can still have an intellectual conversation and be aggressive. You can even wield insults if you'd like, so long as they don't take the place of a coherent argument. I don't believe in ethics, so I don't feel obligated to do anything. Nobody owes you politeness. If you're going to be insulting, you'll get insults right back from me. In fact, the only thing I enjoy as much as intellectual debate, is competing with bullies in wielding emotional abuse. It's a game, to me. Why would I refrain from being snarky, when responding to someone who's being equally snarky? I'm not passive or weak. If that's your style, that's your call but the world will eat you alive.

You're right that I was critical of a behavior rampant within the feminist movement, and identity politics in general. However, you're wrong that it's irrelevant to this discussion. This discussion is about logic and reason. The movie itself undermines logic and reason, while having a feminist subtext. It's intertwined, making direct correlations. The movie goes so far to undermine traditional western understandings of epistemology that it literally BURNS DOWN A LIBRARY, as Yoda tells Luke that the acquisition of knowledge is unimportant: Everything Rey needs to know is inside her. That is Post Modernist nonsense. It's the very thing being espoused in Sociology and Gender Studies classes, via Derrida et al. Are you opposed to addressing the subtext of a film? What if it's political? Should you refrain from talking about the politics of a film on a film website? I don't see why.

It's also relevant, because a Post Modernist approach is being used to defend the lack of logical coherence within the film. Who cares about internal logic within a narrative?! How did it make you FEEL?! This nonsense persists because there's a willful disregard for logic and reason. And it's being fed to you implicitly within the film.

You can toss out politeness and a gentile disposition all you want. The minute you start insulting me, you’ll get it right back if not a pop in the mouth. BUT, I’m also a gentleman and I understand that if I want to get my point across/heard by anyone other than someone who already in the choir, you need to be tactful about your approach. No...no one owes you politeness, but if you decide to be an a$$hole to people, expect to get the same back. Plus, it’s also a colossal waste of time...but hey, if you like pissing in the wind and preaching to the choir, I won’t tread on your right to do so.

Your argument about logic vs reason is an interesting conversation to have. The point about this movie deviating from established context is provable. All that socia-polical BS is just you posturing.

Give it a rest. Talk about the movie, not how it’s undermining the very fabric of societal norms....on a toy site :ohbfrank:

So the official star wars FB is arguing with paying fans :lol :lol

How patetic as a company do you get :lol
