I'm just messing with you. :duff Of course you may very well be put off enough to skip seeing it further. We're all going to hit that point at some point with LFL intent on cranking one of these out every year.

Good point... and interesting you say that - because for the first time ever, I finally thought SW is becoming (taken term from Red Letter Media) creatively bankrupt. Even with the "new" stuff in TLJ, we still heard many of the exact same lines from many of the previous films.

Sad times :(

:lol

Perspective:

ANH Domestic Gross: $460,000,000

ESB Domestic Gross: $290,000,000

;)

Yeah I personally don't think even the smaller drop to 1.4 on avengers is a failure but this is Disney we're talking about. I don't think they'll be happy with that wink if that's the result.

I personally think money means nothing... I mean Britney Spears sold a lot..

What the actual hell does this movie have to do with the left or right? Why are people blaming the left or right on a movie set in space? The only agenda I saw was the make my woman untouchable agenda

Its there.. its been written about by others and myself.. Personally I am done rehashing it.. :lol

I would rather talk about the story / character flaws this film suffers from.

That'd be more interesting! Do share!

Shame it’s becoming a political thing..like everything else.

There was a message...call it an agenda if you wish. I think all SW films have a message. Depending on your social conspiracy sensitivity that message becomes an agenda.

Important to remember movies throughout history have has social messages in them.

It’s only very recently people think it’s some social engineering evil plan going on.

I'll definitely agree with that. :lol

Hmm, TLJ underperforming right before the $500 million budget HS movie hits. Could be a bad year for Kennedy...

Kathleen Kennedy's firing from Lucasfilm is now more important to me than Kim Jong Un's defeat.

You don't like that she gave an auteur free reign to make the SW movie he wanted? Interesting...

We don't really know how much Johnson is responsible for the horror of TLJ. Could be 80% Johnson, 20% Studio. Could be the other way around. The bottom line though is that Kennedy never should have allowed what transpired in TLJ to ever make it to film. Specially with legendary actors basically disowning the characters they became legends with.

Kennedy betrayed SW and should be fired. Johnson insulted SW and should be fired.

I thought he was listed as Writer/producer. I posted earlier he mentioned writing TLJ while filming was still active on TFA. Interviews before the release of TLJ Kennedy was presiding “his vision”

I meant director not producer

Interesting Variety article:

"Four Reasons Why ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Isn’t One for the Ages"

https://variety.com/2017/film/colum...sons-why-its-not-one-for-the-ages-1202643241/

It's a sad thing reading so many new articles about the audience score thing. There is without any doubt a creeping feeling of ageism, sexism and racism - judgement of fans. There is NO interest on the part of media outlets to look at anything other than that. From Newsweek:

"Make no mistake: Star Wars fandom still has a certain core demographic. At the Times Square opening-night screening, there were plenty of what one might consider stereotypical original film fans: pony-tailed white men in their 40s wearing Darth Vader shirts"

"...as more and more female characters enter the Star Wars universe, it’s not surprising that more and more women will show up and buy tickets—taking the place of the older, male fans who are so vocal about losing interest in the series. And it’s about time, say the die-hard women who have been there all along."

wtf?:slap

What's funny is that the wider media is trying to frame the backlash as "another Ghostbusters reboot thing" but it's these articles - that read like blogger diatribes, but are in major national publications - that have turned age, gender and race into the core issue. NOTHING to do with the film itself, right?

What powers Star wars to its box office heights is fan obsession (the very thing mocked by everyone in the media) - will that 9% bump in female audience who showed up opening weekend... still be there for the four and fifth weekend? Or is that for "pony-tailed white men in their 40s" to take care of?

More pathetic baiting from a pathetic poster with pathetic taste in films and pathetic methods of debate.

#Pathetic

Hey, I knew your precious snokula theory wouldn’t pan out months ago. Don’t get pissy just cause you can’t accept this truly fantastic sequel to TFA over your idiotic headcanon, doesn’t make it a bad movie, at all.

Your posts are priceless, I just picture a little red-man punching walls all over the place.
