So now you're making up fake comments that I supposedly said to go with your fake fleet of fake drones remote-controlled by fake droids that the Resistance doesn't even have access to. Why am I even wasting my time with you guys. :lol

spin spin spin. it's getting harder for you to defend this hot mess so you're now conveniently ignoring what happened in the movie, and you're denying you said Holdo was the first to use hyperspace as a weapon. gotta love it :rotfl

BTW according to you the rebel fleet will basically just be the Falcon in Ep 9, right? they obviously don't have the resources to replenish their fleet, right? because if they do replenish their fleet and they don't incorporate hyperspace weapons, then they are idiots. let's hear the spin, will JJ introduce even more advanced tech like new shields to block hyperspace weapons? what a freaking mess, thanks RJ :rotfl

That the movie is made by a genius.

Who the hell is talking about BR 2079 :lol

I've been wondering why since page 1939 and your "discussion" with Spazz.. :lol

Those who hate TLJ won't change the minds of those of us who loved TLJ and vice versa.

I don't care if someone hates TLJ; I like TLJ and my opinion is the only one that matters to me. :wave

Jye is constantly replying and agreeing with his master, Khev, out of fear that he will destroy him and his true intentions be exposed. One of these days Khev will drop his guard, eyes closed and all, still thinking about the epicness of Battle of Scarif, when a Porg meme will slice him in half. Jye will take over from command along with General SNIKT when he makes his return. Khev's tongue will already be hanging out before he is sliced (thinking about RO and his 18th ticket to TLJ). :lol

Jye is just coming to his senses about these things:yess:

Anybody have Nein sucking on 4 Elephant space seals ******* photo as part of the Kennedy Star Wars love art exhibit at the MOMA aint got no sense...Khev is Dr Frankenstein Jye is Igor....A B Normal

TLJ...sponsored by the girl scouts ...who wanna join the boy scouts and use urinals

LMAO!!

Yep, bizarre battlefield for the naysayers to die on. The "why don't droids fly ships in combat" can literally be applied to all the spacecraft, X-Wings included. But clearly they weren't up to the task hence all the human pilots. Even the mighty K-2 in RO couldn't handle hyperspace calculations on the fly when fleeing Jedha and had to have the controls taken away from him by Cassian.

There’s not many hyperspace calculations to be done when one does what Holdo did. It’s like shooting a gun point blank. As for how the droids would get there, it was clearly shown in the pt that carrier ships came in and unleashed automated vulture droids etc

And clearly it can’t be applied to everything because of your next point:

Uh, that logic could be used to ask "why didn't the Rebels have legions of droid fighters supporting their X-Wing craft in the OT? I mean the technology was available right???" The answer is that they didn't have the means or the resources, end of story. You only get to reference the tools that they had at their disposal on screen. No making up all these other things that they supposedly should have built for themselves. Might as well criticize the Alliance for not building their own Star Destroyers, Death Star, etc.

All they had were a couple squads of fighters and a few capital ships. Period. And it would have been stupid for them to obliterate their own limited fleet.

Exactly why it would be easy for the empire (or the FO now) to wipe out the rebels with their unlimited resources with such an ability, or for the separatist army composed of unlimited droids in the PT.

Yeah I know I would want to waste all those ships on suicide missions....

Man am I glad I am not in the service of some of these armchair generals.....

Makes the point well

Personally I have no problem admitting that TLJ is not the worst thing to ever happen to SW (AOTC owns that) and that Luke's arc may not have gone in the direction fan's wanted but Hamil was still good in the role and he was fun. Also visually this film has some interesting and beautiful shots. Kylo and Rey had some good moments and the Light speed suicide and death of Snook were two of the coolest moments in the series. Not finding out who Rey's parents are, Snoke's background, and Captain Phasma (I even hate the name) are all none issues to me.

But this film is a plot holed mess, sub plots that go nowhere, with some sloppy character development and goofy inconsistencies. Yeah the OT had inconsistencies.. But nothing like this. And guess what.. The OT films were so good, you did not care. There was good story telling, with good character arcs and payoffs in the OT. This film main storyline is so bland and boring and leads our characters to no real growth that you cant help but be annoyed by its issues. And while not finding out who Rey's parent are is no big deal.. Not finding out why she is so perfect at everything is... Not finding out who Snoke is not a big deal... But that would have been far more interesting then Canto Bight.

And while I don't mind Luke's arc in this movie.. I am not sure it earned it. I think that could be what is off putting to many fans.. The OT we watched him grow from Whiny Farm boy to Jedi master... He matured before our eyes.. This film has a grumpy old man who we get a little bit of backstory to see why he became so grumpy.. It feels a bit unnatural to some possibly because we don't witness the gradual changes that got him that way..

For me I did not need it.. I never thought of Luke as the greatest hero or Jedi ever so I was not hoping for a big payoff at the end.. I liked that he was a hologram at first.. It was not until later that I realized that it was yet another major scene were nothing really happened :lol

I will give the film this much credit also.. It is an incredibly fast 2 1/2 hour film.. For a movie were there is no real payoff it moves along quickly

Tech in SW is not supposed to make sense or be analyzed they literally contrast old with new at every turn. They are primitive and advanced all at the same time it doesn’t freaking matter it’s just supposed to look cool!

SW is like Clown’s worst nightmare :lol

Yeah.. I don't get the complaints of the Hyperspace suicide thing.. I mean so what.. It was cool for a one time thing.

It shoulda been done by Ackbar not Purple haired Disney Kennedy filler man chick....poetry it woulda been...felt like this film was preventing men from dying like men...even the Rose rescue showed that.cant have finn die like a man....the chick has to be the hero...Leia, Holdo,Rose,Rey...Ackbar spit on, Luke spit on,Chewbacca turned to a sissy,Snoke spit on, Nein Numb spit on...

I just can't believe that the Mad Max movies featured people driving the cars. I mean that's just not safe. :lecture

Why did the Company send Colonial Marines to LV-426 instead of a squad of Bishops? Thanks Rian, you just ruined sci-fi. :(

I think the issue with the Hyperspace Suicide mission.. Is due to the fact that everything leading up to it is crap to the non fans.. Again I think had this been better story telling people might as the same questions but they would not care.

You liked the film so its a non issue. Those that don't have issues with every poor decision that Dern made up until that point and even then she had other alternatives rather then killing herself.

Me I hated her character and thought the scene looked amazing.. So I could role with it :lol

Personally I have no problem admitting that TLJ is not the worst thing to ever happen to SW (AOTC owns that)

For clarity and perspective, some FACTS:

TLJ:

Worldwide gross: $1B+
Cinemascore: A
RottenTomatoes: Certified Fresh - All Critics

AOTC:

Worldwide gross (inflation adjusted): $1B+
Cinemascore: A-
RottenTomatoes: Certified Fresh - All Critics

I didn't like either, but AOTC seems to be getting a bit of a lashing. So I thought the facts might help, because you certainly won't see these facts in any of the current media coverage.
