hey you admitted that tlj has some of the best moments in the entire saga so i can see that you're already starting to turn. Everything is proceeding as i have foreseen. Eh eh eh eh eh eh eh. :d

What an incredible smell you have discovered...Garbage chute gases stretch the ...i m a g i n a t i o n...

"Yes, Admiral! I said... just have a couple of fighters go into hyperspace through those Star Destroyers... and we might just take all of them with us!."

"All wings report in - we need three volunteers to go into hyperspace right into that station, ejecting as you do it might work..."

"Good... our first catch of the... wait no, IT'S JUST GONE INTO HYPERSP---!"

But dude... Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and enjoy the film in front of you.. I really believe if everything leading up to that scene was good you would have no real issues with it.

I actually fount the PT to be more damaging because it took a long time and a Kick ass final scene in RO to make Vader cool again..

I can basically ignore both of these new films.. They are not so bad that they will ruin my enjoyment of the OT..

PT took away some of my enjoyment.. I had a hard time respecting Vader after watching what he use to be :lol

Medichlorians almost ruined everything mystical and fascinating about the Force..

Its easy for me to just ignore these two films as Jedi ended the saga perfectly.

That's the thing though, with these new movies I was looking at the future of Star Wars, not really the impact they would have on the past.
But TLJ considerably tarnished my hopes for what Star Wars is going to become. That's why I call TLJ damaging.
I can't begin to describe how excited I was before seeing the movie. Like a freaking 10 year old, so hopeful.

Also, being a young kid who had just seen the OT a couple years before TPM's release, I didn't worship Vader the same way older people did. For me he was just an awesome bad guy, but I didn't 'get' the character with a mature mind.
It's years later that I truly understood how the portrayal of Anakin really sucked for those who had grown up with Vader as their ultimate villain. I get that for sure, but it was easier to accept due to my age at the time.

Midi-chlorians were just part of my SW life. It made sense to me because I was fairly new to the universe. "Oh of course it's half biological and half magic, alright". That's it :lol
That's why perspectives on the PT can be so different. I do see the flaws, but I interpret them differently.

If master plan freeform shoehorned agenda characters were not put in place then agree yes

Dude I love that Hyperspace stunt.. It was pretty amazing stuff.

Snoke dying is the second biggest surprise in the series after "No I am your father"

I also like the shot of Rey's hand grabbing the saber right after..

All of that great potential ruined by the rest of the movie. :lol

for all those with short memories.....

Star Wars has always had bad stuff in it....

little something at the end to sooth all your pain.....You guys are great even tough we disagree on this...

I take it back RotS is pretty bad bro

Yyyep.

Or how quickly a few Y-Wings can take out a Star Destroyer according to Rogue One. Just go with it and enjoy the ride *****es. :lecture

:D

I had forgotten about that but yeah I do remember commenting on that at the time - that too was a ''so how come they couldn't do that in ROTJ etc etc'' moment but I just dismissed it because the film overall thrilled the hell out of me.

Alas I can't do the same with TFA and TLJ, I have too many issues with them (the usual ones).

And I'm guessing you'd be the guy who sent in all those Bothans just to "go with the flow"...:rotfl

It's like retconning that jet fighters, ICBMs and nukes were available in WWI and we'll all just ignore that they didn't use them. The problem...

The ST is meant to be watched in sequence with the OT. Same timeline. And the OT is CHOCK FULL of scenarios (over and over and over) where the rebels are faced with an overwhelming wall of Imperial space hardware, and they make wimp/back-to-the-wall decisions like running or going in with tiny fighters against all odds etc. Hundreds/thousands die, precious hardware/equipment destroyed, they often lose... etc. When the weaponized-hyperspace option was there all along.

One fighter... boom. Star Destroyer all gone.

I am looking forward to Leland Chee's retcon on it though.:rotfl
