Badda-bingo.

Maybe it was just the best he could do, but it still bugs me that Galen's DS flaw could only be located by his daughter (Stardust) and only exploited by a Force-sensitive pilot.
Tarkin is killed by the same DS plans that he threw in Krennic's face.

The guys analysing the plans, under immense pressure since the Death Star was coming for the rebel base imminently, must have been ***ting themselves - ''**** lads, I mean this thing with the exhaust port is all I can find. It seems like it'd be damn near impossible to hit the reactor this way but, I'm looking and I can't see anything else. Is this really what this Erso guy was talking about?'' ''No time, we'll have to go with that''.
I could totally see it going down that way.![]()
Think about it from Galen's perspective. He was ready to die but knew that if he died too soon that someone else would take his place. He probably designed the reactor flaw fulling intending to blow the module himself. Imagine the Emperor basking in the glory of the fully completed DS, decades in the making, only to watch it inexplicably explode in a cloud of vapor. That would have been the biggest WTF of all time and very may well have forever ended any further investment in such a project on the part of the Empire.
But Galen might been thrown a curve ball by being moved off-site for the final stages of construction and as it was days from completion he panicked and feared that he might never get his chance so the next best thing was to just get the word out to the Alliance to see what they could do. Maybe infiltrate and plant explosives to detonate remotely, maybe have a droid do it, or maybe send a team on a suicide mission. I'm sure he never deliberately created a trap that would require the Force to set off or ever imagined that anyone could hit the reactor from outside the Death Star.
"We have analyzed their attack and there is a danger......"
Empire figured it out as well.....once they saw what they were shooting at...........the jig was up.
Tarkin's arrogance killed him.....
Yep he didn't even bother to hear what the danger was.
Typical Imperial where Overconfidence is his weakness.
Mon Mothma's okay but General Dodonna becomes quite the ***hole.

Dude you were standing right next to Jyn before she went off and sacrificed herself and you give sole credit to Leia? After flipping **** to Jyn about the credibility of her father who also sacrificed himself for the cause? Bastard.
Maybe the reason the Rogue One characters were never mentioned in the OT (or any other media for that matter) is because they didn't exist until around 2015 when they were written down. Just a thought.
I know, maybe they could digitally insert Jyn into the Endor celebration scene as a force ghost! She did have a Jedi crystal afterall! PUT HER IN THE OT.
It wouldn't shock me. If there's another way to exploit nostalgia with another prequel, they'll do it. We'll get sweet cameos in this one of Boba Fett, CG Lando, Yoda, werewolf from the Cantina scene, worm head guy from Jedi, etc. Star Wars fans all be like, "hey, I remember that guy!" every 10 minutes or so.As silly as it actually sounds, they could make a Rogue Two, about the "many boffins" that died to get the ROTJ Mothma plans...
