The idea to have (initially) three directors for the trilogy was really dumb, especially without a set-in-stone outline.
Can't say I'm the biggest JJ fan but damn, I wish he had done Episode VIII now...

That’s probably my biggest issue with all of this. What was Disney thinking? Not only did they decide to use different directors but they let the directors write the script??! The new director erases everything established in the previous movie and Disney just goes with it. Makes no sense?

Which is why I’m not watching the next Star Wars movie. No explanations. So rey just has these abilities? She just has visions of the past? Like what the hell? This movie is jarring

But yea I know they’d never do something original. I want a franchise that finally delves into the mythos. No more rebel vs empire crap since we don’t even know how these guys got into power.

I was about to edit my post you quick bastard.

What I meant with fun is the actual enjoyment of the overall SW brand the whole geekiness of it.

Notice that I said “enjoyment” of SW and not “celebration” of SW because you do celebrate the quality of the OT quite honorably with respect for the source material and detailed analysis of the heroes journey.

Now in as far as the actual enjoyment from reading the forum posts both yours and Khev’s are obviously my two favorite to read here because you both approach the subject matter from such different angles with such conviction that I can totally appreciate the effort and passion behind your words.

I get so much out of reading from both.

Both offer so much insight infused with such great humor.

So yeah chill, your posts are gold standard and the lol i’ve experienced here with you even with your multiple bannings (lol) I will always cherish.

My tastes in cinema have changed because of you that’s damn impressive to influence others like that.

But with Khev I can kick my feet up and enjoy new dumb SW while with you I kick my feet up and enjoy you destroying new SW.

This is not disney's fault. Disney is doing perfectly fine with pixar and marvel.
I think it is stupid to make disney as the guilty one.... even their live adaptations of cartoon movies are doing perfectly with jungle book and beauty and the beast.

Rian Johnson is an idiot and a hack,
But he just got hired and was given the freedom to do what he wanted,
He was given free reign. He wasnt held back. He created a stupid story, but....the fault entirely falls on the producers.
