Is this game gonna be like WoW

I disagree but we're all entitled to our opinions. In what way do you think TOR will be like WoW. Did you play beta? If yes, did you get higher than level 20?

In other news... Classes are going to be mirrored. Good article about it at MMORPG.com

Seems silly in some respects but then again it makes playing the good vs evil classes a bit easier. If your an alt-o-holic like me, theres no need to remember 16 classes worth of skills-spells and cast orders, just the 8 primary sub classes. Then again each of the sub classes can further specialize down 3 paths so any attempt at simplifying classes could be a good thing.

If you want more info on the game check out the great articles at MMORPG.com. Lots of good info at....

Is this game gonna be like WoW

People say the actual combat is like WoW, but I don't know. To me they've taken the gameplay of KOTOR and made it work in an MMO settings, if that means it's like WoW then it's not because they're trying to copy it.

The main thing is that whatever you're doing isn't just a grind, you'll be interested in the various things you can do because of the story and characters.

My biggest wish in this game is an attack queue like KOTOR. I liked choosing 5 attacks and then being able to cancel or add attacks as the animations went by.

Yeah, and I wish there was an auto attack, like if your character is in combat but you don't give an attack command then it will just use the default attack. Otherwise I keep on having to spam the attack buttons to make sure I stay in combat.

It looked like a question, not a statement.

Doh, that's what I get for reading forums late at night.

Combat wise it's pretty standard MMO stuff. I do wish there was some sort of auto attack. Gameplay is a lot different than most MMOs mainly due to companions, lack of grinding, and the quest-story lines.

This. :lecture

Many times during the beta I'd be in a fight and someone in the room I was in would ask me something and I'd look away for a second and get hit only to stand there and do nothing. Totally dumb to not have an auto attack.

One of the cool things about MMOs is that they are not static and constantly evolve. Just because something is one way at launch, doesnt mean it has to stay that way... it can be changed. Make sure you join the bioware forums and comment on what you like or dislike. Auto attack, chat and need for voice chat are my big gripes. The more people that comment on items... The better the chance they'll be addressed.

i'm just going to program a macro to do an auto-attack of some sort

There's a really nice article on the SWTOR forums regarding Item and Euipment mods. You can find it here:

https://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=717041

Basically the idea is to put a big emphasis on mods and make them viable till end game so that you can take a lvl 5 item (because you like the look of it) and mod it to match a lvl 50 dungeon drop.

:yess::yess:

Just got a notification about the early access--you can pre-load the game, so if you are going to have early access but didn't download the final client during the beta, you'll be able to do that before you start playing.

Early access for me is the 13th, which is pretty cool since it's earlier than expected. For reference I preordered the CE the day it went up.

niice! i'm jealous since i won't be able to play until the 21st which is when i have some vacation time. until then i'm just patiently waiting :impatient:

oh an update on poll results regarding what class at launch:
Jedi Knight - 70
Jedi Consular - 82
Trooper - 67
Smuggler - 54
Sith Warrior - 79
Sith Inquisitor - 103
Bounty Hunter - 114
Imperial Agent - 97

Guess that means most people are going Empire and like their range attacks

My only worry is that the early access will end (since it's a temporary serial number) and I won't be able to play for a few days until the actual game ships, I don't think I got release day shipping.

I get off work monday night(tuesday morn) at 6am cst and that is when it begins. Gonna be a long night at work.
