So no more 3D printed Star Wars collectibles?
No more astronomical prices?
No more incredibly large collectible crates that take up too much space?
Oh no!
Haha this.
Seriously I'd rather have them out of the picture and see an MR-like brand take that spot.
Wonder if their stuff is going to sell for more on the aftermarket though. I mean if it cost more than $4,000 to get the Vader helmet from them, are people going to pay $6,000 now?
Propshop wasn't just a replica company, though - they actually worked on the films (which makes this even more baffling). It's not clear from their website whether or not it's the whole thing that's shut down or just the replicas production, but given the call I just had from Disney regarding a purchase refund, I think it's the whole lot.I really think the whole idea behind this company was "wow, look at how much people are paying for that MR ANH Luke Skywalker lightsaber, there must be a market for $1k+ lightsabers out there and we are completely ignoring it". Ofc things don't work like that...
Propshop would probably still be alive if they had aimed for the $600-700 range which is what most (used) MR lightsabers sell for, opened their sales to the international market and not just the US, and ofc didn't include those absurd taxes and shipping costs from the start.
That must have been a heck of an order.
Now the prices will skyrocket for the props they have made.
Aside from all the weapons and melted Vader helmet, there were two storm troopers, a life-size BB-8 and the sofa & chess table from the Falcon (hence the home visit for planning). I was really looking forward to that sofa, too
Ho-hum. Nothing I can do about it, just have to wait for Disney / Harrods to process the refund...
LOL!People should start selling their PropShop 3D printed items fast, before turning into dust...

LOL!
The thing is RPF members are convinced this will happen, so does Adam Savage from Mythbusters who received Kylo's helmet from Prop Shop.
And instead of buying a PropShop Rey saber - again with some 3D printed parts, people should really consider a genuine Graflex conversion
