Yeah, I'm hoping this movie pulls through.
There's no doubt the sequel will be the children in their adulthood years.

Already tracking for a 50 mil opening. Which is incredible for a horror film, and all the talk from early screenings have been really positive.

Yeah sequel will be a mix of adults and flashbacks to when they were kids. With stuff they didn't show in the 1st film.

Apparently the opening to the sequel will the Black Spot scene from the book!

I liked the scene, but I can see what you mean - to be fair though isn't that the only point where It is supposed to appear approachable?

And from what I've read doesn't It tear Georgie's arms off right after the point where they ended the sneak peek?

I think after that we could see a lot more intense situations when It doesn't care about being approachable anymore. I read they wanted this to be R before they even got a director, so it has to be scary. Hopefully. :lol

welp... thank god i never saw that when i was little..... jeez :lol

that scene is what got me so excited lol :lol

I was before I saw it. I'll still see it. Hopefully it'll deliver.

As for the spoiler, I was hoping to see that. IT came off more as a drooling dork in that scene, than scary. I was surprised how much it cooled off my expectations, but again, I hope it'll deliver. I've seen the original multiple times, and IMO, it's horrible. Tried to like it, but I couldn't. It shouldn't take much to beat it, in terms of being better. It's a low bar.

P.S. That commercial is pure win

I don't think you can really judge Bill's performance from that one scene since, as I said earlier, It's trying to be more approachable there. I really liked the scene because it's a bit creepy watching him talk Georgie into the drain, and drooling when he gets close. They cut the trailer right before It grabs Georgie, which is when I think we'll see It's scarier side.

I really like what I've read of the director's comments, he seems to have a good approach to it so I have hope this could be good. https://collider.com/andy-muschietti-it-movie-interview/#images Warning: the interview has some big spoilers.

And yeah, the original series is pretty bad. I think this will have to top it. I like Tim Curry's performance a lot though.

Still, here's hoping this doesn't somehow suck. :lol I'm going in with low expectations.

Yeah, I saw in that interview the director said it was pretty brutal. I didn't know they had two different scripts for this

And sure, you can PM. It's not a huge spoiler for me since I already read the article

I'm really looking forward to this.

It's got a great vibe, something missing from horror in the last decade or so.

I need to pick up the book ffs. :lol

The problem is that a lot of people never read the book and a lot of people will judge it based on the miniseries,so they will be comparing it to how close it is to that series or how different.

Already some early screening opinions that are negative are bashing Stuff related to the book like some of the humor and tone. Or dialogue

Right. I think I'll go into this one without reading any reviews/feedback from viewers.
Whenever I do that, my expectations are not very high and I'm able to go in with an open mind, free of bias.

So this is more faithful to the book than the miniseries is? I know the director is a big SK fan, so that's cool.

Should I read the book before watching this?
