Some horror movies are made better with audience participation.
One good example of this, based on personal experience, would be watching Halloween III with friends - without telling them that the story is different from the rest of the series. The reaction from hardcore Myers fans is priceless (no disrespect to them).
Best horror movie with an audience was Soul Plane
I kinda do... a bit.Your gonna hate it . Lol
The most ridiculous laughing episode I recall in a theater was seeing Eastern Promises. During the fight in the showers, where Viggo goes full nude, three women behind me were guffawing like crazy. They wouldn't stop, in fact, until I turned around and essentially berated them for it, because I was trying to watch the film. It is a coping mechanism for people who are uncomfortable, and that's probably a big reason why this would happen in genuinely scary horror films.Yeah tha sounds about right.
My wife laughs during the Exorcist but not at it.
Just more of a holy crap that's insane kind of laugh.
While watching Halloween 1, F13th 1, Blair Witch original, Paranormal Activity, Sinister 1 and The Witch I did not laugh.
Laugh it up fuzzball.
I saw Halloween H20 during opening night, and after the opening scene, the lights dimmed. When they turned back on, there was a guy in a Myer's suit standing in the front. He started walking down the aisles, just staring at people. A couple of black girls were sitting a bit in front of me, and when he got close to them, they got out of the seats and ran away screaming as he chased them out. It was amazing.Whenever I go to a horror movie I hope there is a black audience because they absolutely enhance the experience.
They get so invested into the movie they wear their emotions on their sleeves they start yelling at the characters to run or calling them dummies lol.
Love it.
Whites are freaking boring, Khev will be passing his grey poupon over to me during a F13th movie, so thrilling lol.
Then again Khev in a Star Wars movie might be a different experience.
