Hey All,

Sorry for the wait. My meeting with Storm didn't happen on Thursday, but instead in the afternoon on Friday.
Just want to thank them for their time. It was a casual meet and the guys were friendly. A very relaxing chat.

Anyhows, the chat lasted quite a few hours. haha wish it lasted more, but sadly I had to shoot off early that late afternoon.

In the end, I pretty much gave all if not most of the feedback that I gathered in this Tyson and Hogan thread.
First of all they were happy to know that people from all over the world recognised them and took an interest in their products. They do listen/read what you guys have to say. They will continue to be unique and do things that others dont.

Now, onto some answers they provided to me on the day. Apologise in advance if my answers dont make any sense. Give me a shout and I'll try and go through them in detail.

For Tyson:-

- The first release is based on 80's Tyson, so wont have alot of Tatoos on the body. More tatoos gradually appeared throughout Tysons career, and hopefully if the product sells, more will become available in future figures.
- The figure that was shown at Toy Souls event in HK was not the final product. There are some adjustments being made to Tyson's thighs. They will be made much thicker, information provided according to a close source from the main man.
- As for concerns about the champ belts, Storm are working hard on this and trying to get them as offical items.
- Preorders for the normal edition will begin at the end of Jan, early Feb. Further details to follow nearer the time.
- Packaging box (same applies to Rodman/Hogan) The style of the boxes will be consistent throughout. Take Rodman for example, Tyson/Hogan will use a similar illustrated art style. Oil painting portrait of the legend on the cover of the box. The boxes are shoe box style made from sturdy cardboard. Form will be provided as inner protection for the figure. Again, a clearer understanding of this can be seen in the recently released Rodman figure.

I believe that is it for Tyson in general. As for future Legends, they are still interested in Ali and Frazier. They cant reveal anymore until they can further gauge this product. They def have taken notice for requested items such as ropes and towels etc.

Guys, feel free to ask for more info or any other questions that I missed out.

Moving onto Hogan:-

- They will do pretty much most of all your requests. Hand gestures, different facial expressions, different coloured outfits, gold crucifix etc.
- They are making Hogan in his prime. Classic and Hollywood.

Storm guys are wrestling fans, and they know the wrestlers you mentioned in the post. What they want to acheive is to make figures that are well known on a international level that will sell. They want to make wrestlers that are unique. Whether body wise and/or their career. This is important because Storm wants to be known for creating unique headsculpts and bodies of each figure they make. That whats seperates them apart.

Side answers:-

- Storm has the MK license. These will be based on the Klassic style and at 1/12 scaled.
- In the future, Storm will not just concentrate on 1/6 but also 1/12 scaled.
- Currently they have not considered other genres yet. They want to see how things go with what they have for now. However they are aware of these requests.
- Rodman fans out there. Wedding dress version will come at a later date. Limited worldwide.

I think I have covered everything in here. If I remember anything or hear anything else, I'll let you all know.

Thanks for reading guys, and hopefully theres more news to come. Chat to you all real soon.

Great stuff.

Any info on other NBA legends ?

This guy would be sweet.

If you have people willing to shell out $300 and $400 for replica belts, you have a market for highly-detailed and accurate 1/6 figures. The sky's really the limit for Storm.

I can't count the number of people on wrestling forums that have said " If wrestlers got Hot Toys quality figures, they would buy them". The market is there.

Will probably be tricky trying to do distinct, classic Hogan looks without getting approval from WWE. Because if it's obvious that it's classic mid-80s WWF or NWO Hogan, I doubt Vince will let that go without letting his lawyers loose. Not sure if WWE owns rights to merchandise associated with AWA-era Hogan though. Probably not NJPW stuff, though I don't know how litigious those guys are.

Thank you. So glad we have someone basically in the ear of these guys. I definitely think the belt would be great, but not deal breaker for me. Hopefully they have a deal on buying both versions of Hulk. Sky is definitely the limit with a wrestling line, I think I could easily name 30 wrestlers I'd buy in this scale done as well as Storms figures look

If they ever made Undertaker, this would be the version I'd want the most.

Hell yea.

Chockles, do you happen to know if Storm reached an agreement with the WWE? I can't imagine Vinnie Mac leaving any money on the table, let alone on one of the biggest cash cows in the history of the industry. I'd like to know because I'm not buying a TNA Hogan. :lol

Also, did anyone get their Tyson from the Toy Soul event? I can't wait to see how that figure turned out.

Thanks for the info, buddy.

Oh, this sounds promising. It seems too good to be true, the level of interest a company has shown the consumer. Not to mention the willingness to take on big risks. I hope Storm delivers. I'd love an Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man, Shawn Michaels, etc.

As for authentic championship belts, Storm will have to deal with this guy. Good luck! :lol

The belt is important.
However, a 80's Hogan should go something like this:
Hulkamania Yellow Bandana
Red Hulkamania shirt
Red Torn Hulkamania shirt
Cross necklace
White wrist tape
Yellow trunks
Red knee pads
Yellow boots with white soles and white laces
Hands:
1 pair of fists for flexing pose
One karate chop hand for signature pose
One cup hand for hand to hear pose
One hand with #1 hand jesture
A pair of holding hands for the Belt
A pair of gripping hands for his shirt tearing pose
Sculpt:
Signatur bald spot
Signature handlebar mustache
Body:
Buff body with barrel chest and stomach
Dark tan skintone
Angry face sculpt
Normal expression facesculpt

nWo Hollywood Hogan would also be a seller for me.

This.

Glad we are getting a NWO Hogan too. The belt, I think, will be a long shot. Not sure if WWE would let Storm make one...

Storm wanting to thicken up Tyson's thighs boggles my mind. If only all 1/6 companies cared as much about detail. :rolleyes2

For Storm to do? Or for people to do?

Storm could do this but wouldn't there be a claim for WWE to get some sort of compensation for using there belt design. I mean MattelDesignTeam in the past has stated that certain belts are hard to get due to the rights issue... and they are partnered with WWE directly... I mean we just got the new belt with the Hogan DM and we have yet to get a true proper big gold WCW belt. Those would need to be the two that are included. Would be nice if Storm just contacted WWE and ask, what is the worst that could happen? If they plan on making more they need to include belts, the figures would be incomplete without belts.

Hey Guys, Sorry if I miss out on some of your questions. I will try my best to answer any questions I see in here. Ask again if I miss out this time.
I can def see the interest in here and how little things like the belt can become a major thing. I'll be sure to pass on these info every so often to them. To be sure this is not just a one off, but for all their figures to include official belts if they can.

Great stuff.

Any info on other NBA legends ?

Sorry dude, no other info on other basketball players. Though they did offer a little more Rodman news at the end of the message I posted. I did pass on a list of player names for them to consider if they will carry on this series.

Help me out. What's the MK license?

Mortal Kombat?

As above Klassic Kombatants:p 1/12 scaled.

Thanks for the update Chockles. Did they mention any specific wrestlers they were interested in by name?

No other specific wrestlers my friend. Just want to concentrate on Hogan for now. Its a very very very small team at Storm.

I personally got a few Tyson preorders from the event. The prototype is very good. I thought that was the final product, but nope, ther still tweating his thighs! lol

ONE LAST THING! - It seems everyone is discussing about Licenses and contracts etc etc. Im not the biggest fan here or able to have many inputs about the wrestling/boxing scene when it comes to politics and stuff. Im sure Storm would not want to tell me these in detail either which I can understand. The only thing I can say is that these guys went directly to the main celebs and signed contracts directly with them. Hence many middle men were out of the picture thus this should and would help elimate complications during the progress. That is why I said they would have to jump through many hurdles when it comes to Belts. Lets hope they can overcome these issues smoothly. We all wish them luck on that aspect. Im just glad they made a great job on the body and sculpt on these legends. Belts would be a superb bonus!

They probably can't do the NWO logos as the WWE owns those, but I wonder if they can do the Hollywood bandana and the hollywood tights as those didn't always have the nwo logo on them.

I believe Hogan might have some partial rights to the Hulkamania logo/trademark as he used it in TNA. Yet, he wasn't able to use it in WCW so I wonder what the deal is.

Chockles, did you guys have a discussion about the Hulkamania logo use?

Not much discussion was talked about with rights etc. Though they said Hulk had the rights to Hulkmania and shouldnt have too much to worry about that. They are still bouncing ideas around on what collectors and fans wants. Guage reactions and then see how things go from then on. Nothing was shown in their office so I couldnt take a peek at all. lol

I have made aware that authenticity and details are very important to us all. Of course they will try and implement as much as possible. Who woudn't want official gear, right?

Awesome! I'm glad that the Hulkster does indeed have rights to Hulkamania.

I know they didn't show you anything, but did they say if they've started on anything yet? Also, did they give you a timeline for release?

No they didnt say what they started on already. They probs didnt want to reveal too much to begin with. Plus it was our first meeting. Im just a normal Joe off the streets, so tt wouldnt surprise me they didn't want to fully tell me everything and I dont blame them. They did mention a few things that they dont want me to say out, but over the long chat, I probs forgotten what they told me anyways. lol

Back in Dec, they did say they wanted to reveal something about Hogan in Jan this month, so who knows if this still holds true now. We are in mid month already, so its not really a long wait if they reveal something or not. There is really no rush at all since they still are at early stages and busy with the release of Rodman. Shipping out orders etc.

Our first meet is just to really introduce ourseleves and get your voices across to them. Cant just barge in there and demand things. haha. Hopefully over time, they are willing to show us more when they are ready.
