Re: Stranger Things (netflix show)

Agreed. I'm with you when it comes to child actors and the kids in this show don't bother me either. I look at them like I look at the kids who starred in The Goonies, which I really like and still enjoy watching today. I didn't take Stranger Things too seriously either and I was very entertained by the whole story.

I'm really looking forward to season two.

That's exactly what I told my wife about the kids! :lol

Re: Stranger Things (netflix show)

I loved the kids in this. I was very happy to learn that the lead boy, Finn Wolfhard (what a ****ing ****o name!!) is playing Richie Tozier in the big screen "IT" adaptation.

It's kind of crazy to think that Seth Green played the role in the miniseries. If they do a sequel with the adults, Green could play grown-up Richie. :thud:

Re: Stranger Things (netflix show)

Stranger Things was a masterpiece!!! i loved every second of it. So much so, ive been listening to the 2 volumes of the score non-stop by the members of SURVIVE.

The kids were freakin amazing!!!! Especially Eleven i thought was just perfect. Its now up there with one of my all-time favorite TV shows.

I need to check out their film "Hidden". For 2 twin brothers who had 1 film under their belt and wrote a few episodes of another TV show, its amazing they got the opportunity to do this, then becomes critically acclaimed and loved by the fans all over the world. They hit the right spot with anyone who grew up in the 80s. Nailed it perfectly.

Re: Stranger Things (netflix show)

I felt nostalgia just watching the opening sequence. They did a great job recreating the time period. I can hear the Duffer brothers setting the mood everyday, "I don't want to see a single Starbucks coffee or iPhone on this set!" LOLZ

Looking forward to the next iteration -- I heard it's not going to be a continuation but something more along the lines of True Detectives... Anyone?

From what I read the next season will have a time-jump of one year and may focus more on the upside down. Also, the first season covered about a week of real time and the second season will be more spread out over time than that. All the same characters are supposed to be involved though.

Agreed! They had the perfect mix of 80's nostalgia that resonated with everyone I know who watched the show. :yess:

Re: Stranger Things (netflix show)

I wish Hot Toys would get the license shouldn't be terribly hard since they've worked with Netflix for the Daredevil license.

Re: Stranger Things (netflix show)

I don't think there's enough material for cool toys here, I find it hard to conceive even a fig of El.

Plus, monster design sucked ***.

Re: Stranger Things (netflix show)

I really enjoyed the show. I felt like most of the acting was good and that the time period helped the show. However, I do think it got bogged down towards the end by trying to cram in a lot of eighties film ideas. It also felt like that melancholy style of film making really kept the climax from hitting home for me. Still, I look forward to next season and have some theories as to where it's heading.

The D&D Demogorgon is a two headed creature always fighting with itself. Even the comic the kids put up for trade (x-men 134) is about jean greys dueling personality with the dark phoenix. Eleven admits to being the monster though it seems its not meant to be literal. During her last stand against the Demogorgon she says goodbye knowing it's destruction would likely mean her own. The creature even mimics the use of her powers by lifting its hand up to meet hers. Eleven and the Demogorgon are the rightside up and upside down versions of each other.

I didn't HATE the monster design, but I wasn't that impressed either. It was a tad blah...

Re: Stranger Things (netflix show)

Millie,Gaten,Caleb and Finn were all on Jimmy Fallon last night. They played a cool game of Stranger Strings using Silly String. They had to figure out who wrote something personal on a card.Count to 3 and spray the person they thought wrote it with silly string. Some pretty funny stuff and all of them were great.Mille did a Rap at the end of the segment and it was DOPE'.
New season coming thanks to the already Cult following.
