Re: Street Fighter X Tekken Announced

Poison is female. It was only because of US censorship, since you were beating up females that they came up that Poison & the other female enemies are actually transvestites.

huh? you mean officially there saying shes a tranny?

also i had no idea so kany guys liked trannys till i saw all the positive responce to poison hahahaha

Re: Street Fighter X Tekken Announced

I think it's because of their moveset, seeing that alot of the other characters basically resemble Dudley's & Fei Long's.

That can't be a reason when Ryu, Ken, Akuma (and possibly the other 500000000 shotos) are always on the same game.

They better give me my Dudley/Steve Fox dream team . .

Re: Street Fighter X Tekken Announced

I liked tekken always a lot.

And unless a lot of people think I'm crazy my main character always was Jack 5.

so I hope he will come back.

I always loved to play with a lot of other tekken characters and I hope they can find the balance between the streetfighter characters and Tekken charackters.

And I hope the won't do a Scenario Campaign again because that just isn't Tekken the way I like to play it.

Transvestite or transsexual? If the latter, then making that change in an effort to appease those who would be offended by beating up women. . .makes complete and perfect sense.

Poison's first appearance in Final Fight featured her and a palette swap character named Roxy as recurring minor enemies for the player to fight. Named after the band by an unnamed female employee at Capcom, she was designed by Akira Yasuda to contrast against the bigger characters in the game and move about randomly. According to the book All About Capcom Head to Head Fighting Games, the characters were originally planned to be female, but were changed to transvestites (or more specifically "newhalfs") due to the suggestion that "hitting women was considered rude" in America and the concern that feminist groups would sue.

A later appearance by Poison as playable character in Final Fight Revenge, an American-produced 3D fighting game spinoff of Final Fight, portrayed the character in a highly feminine manner and had her romantically interested in Final Fight hero Cody. Commentary about her ending in the game in All About Capcom suggested that the character might have gotten a sex change. The Final Fight-related character profiles featured in the 2005 compilation Capcom Classics Collection acknowledges Poison's transvestite characterization, while addressing Roxy as a "she" who dislikes Poison's cross-dressing.

The discrepancy regarding Poison have been addressed more than once in interviews with former and current Capcom employees. Final Fight developer and Arika founder Akira Ni____ani stated he supposed the character could be male, but added it was up to the viewer to decide. Street Fighter IV's producer Yoshinori Ono, when asked in an interview about the matter, stated "Let's set the record straight: In North America, Poison is officially a post-op transsexual. But in Japan, she simply tucks her business away to look female." He later emphasized it again when asked about what female characters could be included in the game Street Fighter IV, stating that it would be too confusing to include her due to the region-specific gender.

It doesn't matter. People are still going to buy it. Capcom has established a fanbase that will buy no matter what they put out.

I can already tell you what will happen. 6 months after release they will make this Namco vs Capcom and it will have Soul Calibur characters and Mega Man characters added and everyone will need to buy it again.

lolz at Kuma's fart attack.

The tag system & combos seems pretty fun.

Who's the girl with the pink hair?

She's Poison, one of the small fries from Final Fight that got somewhat popular with the fans, same with Hugo from SFIII, also originated as a punching bag in Final Fight LoL. Check the video at 0:30 and you'll see Poison getting some screen time as an extra :D

Poison is a little bit disturbing considering the he/she factor, but Final Fight rocks and I'm glad they made that earlier cinematic trailer with just Final Fight characters for the Capcom side.

show us Jin now

I agree!
