Guess I am better than I thought I was. LOL! People keep quitting on me after two rounds. The only challenge that I have had is DarthMatrix. The rest of these people online are chumps. :lecture

Bunch of kids that are used to button mashers I guess. :dunno

I wish I had this for PS3 just too own StarKillers whiney ass. :monkey3:monkey1

Have you guys been sent rude messages from sore losers you've played online? I've gotten a few. The worst one was this, and I quote:

"u cheap thrower, learn sum skills, ni**er"

I think it was a kid from hearing him mutter some things during the match.

actually, any quality stick is becoming "limited" in nature since the release of SF4....the HRAP3 is going for double or triple the price now and getting harder and harder to even find for sale.

Man I know what you mean, I was lucky enough to secure just the SE Fightstick. Too bad I suck just as bad with the Standard XBox controller or the Joystick so it made no difference to me. Actually I actually pull off the normal moves better with the normal Contollers. Combos though I cant do with or without the Joystick.... I guess Ill keep practicing

I think im wanting the stick is cause I havent played an arcade game in years an dit would bring back some memories I guess. I can go to gamecrazy over here and get the fightstick, the place had about 6 of them yesterday.

I know sometimes Im not able to get off the Ultra, like with Ryu I try to do it but I end up doing the super instead.

Rightttt....I wish I had a sock to stick in,, err....or duct tape to wrap your hands in. So I wouldn't have to read your BS, every time you feel the need to defend your tiny manhood on a forum over the internet.

Being how I never challenged anyone here nor did I claim to be remotely good at the game. If you call being critical of a game I dropped $63 something whiney then you have a lot to learn.

I guess you just don't remember half the crap you post. :lol

yeah, I just got one today. I was using Chun-Li, and the guy barely beat me with Ken (was very cheap with constant crossups and whittling jab combos). Sent me a message of "Go to bed, ho." Not cool (I'm assuming he thought I was a girl, because my PSN name is kinda very girly.

Hey moomoo, what are crossups? Ive been playing SF for a long time but am new to the online acronyms and terms.

It's when you jump over the opponent and hit them with a certain attack that gets you onto the opposite side, and can lead into a combo.

For example, for Ryu and Ken, if you jump from the left, just barely make it over the opponent and hit middle kick, you'll hit the character and land on the right side.

Not sure if I explained that properly...

edit: here's a pic-

edit 2: from an IGN guide: When fighting on the ground, most all attacks can be blocked with a low guard. To get around the impenetrable defense, you can perform a jumping attack which will force the opponent to guard high. But both of these blocks require simply holding backward in the same direction. While you are forcing the opponent to switch between low and high guards, making him/her work for the defense, there's not that much chance of error.

A cross-up fixes that. A cross-up is a jumping attack performed as you jump over the opponent that connects with the opponent from behind. An example of a good cross-up is Fei Long's j.MK. When you jump over the opponent from the left side of the screen, though Fei Long is facing the right and still kicks toward the right, the j.MK attack is capable hitting behind Fei Long. For an opponent to guard against a cross-up, he/she must not only change their guard to a high guard but must also press toward the attacker to guard, instead of away from the attacker. Judging the difference bewteen a normal jump-in and a cross-up is often difficult in the heat of battle, so by forcing the opponent to change many directions of his/her guard, you are much more likely to connect your hit, letting you move into a combo.

ah ok gotcha. yea those are good to do to get into some combos if the other player doesnt know to block forward instead of the normal back.

Ive noticed crossups are hard to pull off in SF4 or maybe i just dont have the spacing/timing down yet.

I wouldnt say they're harder... it's definitely the timing (I'd say it's because the game feels a little smoother than other SF games).

I actually went to a friend's place yesterday and played some SFIII after playing a few hours of SFIV at home... I was totally disoriented because of how different the games feel (and I used to be awesome at SFIII). Now it feels really clunky, although i did get back into the groove after a few rounds.

After experiencing that, I REALLY appreciate the feel of SFIV and how much effort Capcom put into transitioning into the 3D graphics while keeping the gameplay like the 2D SF games. ^_^
