I canceled the first one because I didn't have money, so I just ordered this version. I don't really care for the skin color but I think the dark BDU's offset it better.

I don't see why you guys are complaining so much about the variants. Is it lame that they're redoing the same figures over and over? Yes. But nobody designated any of you to be completists, you did that yourselves. No one is forcing you to buy these.

I think the point everyone is making is not that they are being "forced" to buy the pieces rather the over-use of variants may kill the line.

I agree with that, I think they could stand to slow down in general. Last time we saw a new figure they actually debuted 2 at the same time and now they just posted 2 new variants. Completist or not it's hard for anyone to keep up.

TheMike / ktjn - no more color variants for the time being, but we're not saying never ever again - some are too fun not to do.

This should please some for now...

The comment of fun might have something to do with one coming not with one already here.......

In my opinion, this version is the best for the tactical officer and the Goth version is the best babysitter version. Therefore I will not be pre ordering any more of the dead and I will "wait and see" which inevitable variant I like the best.

Not that it is any less lame....but the original Containment Unit Operator was in green with black vest, the 2nd Domestic Exclusive was in Brown and this one is in black. No changes to any of them except coloring

Just because you never get enough opportunities to quote yourself.

Might prove to be a disappointing tactic. Most often the regular version of the figure sells out before a variant is available. Same thing happens with the first variant before the second comes out. So using your strategy all you may be left with is the latest variant. Might want to consider picking up the original, then possibly trading it to a fellow freak for a newer variant that you like better.

Ok, there are 3 versions of this guy? What are the differences? I have the Spook version and another, not sure which one? how can I tell which one i have?

BDU color.

Sooner or later the bubble that is the Dead will pop and you will be able to shop ebay for Dead figures Buffy prices.

The ones with variants, and variants themselves, absolutely. I can see that happening already. The rarer ones, no. The only price drop I see the ridiculous $650 price of PZ possibly dropping to a more respectable $300-400 but not below that. These figures had a cult following before zombies became mainstream and one, I can guarantee, will stick around like the undead themselves, long after they're considered passe.

Actually PZ has gone up and come down a couple times. he was up around $350- $400 and then came down to like $280 for awhile then shot back up. The $650 is the outlier and no one is biting at it either.

im done . basically what you are buying is a new outfit for 60 bucks . if your gonna shove a variant up our you know what , then at least have the decency to include different body parts for each. i don't think that will even justify 3 and 4 variants. onto a new line for me.
