I would say not.
Most won't know until they don't receive their shipments, or inquire to GG.
I'm not sure GG actively goes out and tells all their retailers.

BTW...a little bird told me that BBTS used a Japanese distributor for their order of the variant.

I am super excited to receive mine. I thought the proto looked amazing and if Morgul Steves photos are an accurate representation of what the in hand piece looks like I think GG really delivered. When this went up for preorder with an edition size of only 500 I ordered direct as it seemed smarter to guarantee a preorder then try and save 15% and take a chance at not getting one.
With all that said GG has been so dishonest and shady (they doubled the fraking edition size after it sold out) that I have no doubt that we will be seeing another release of Babydoll in some form or another. Alot of peeps may decline to purchase the rest of the line if they know they will not be able to get the full line up.
Hope this does not come off as trollish.

Well, we did see SSC do this exact thing with the Gollum PF. And this may not be the popular opinion, but I fully support it. I wouldn't care what the edition size is I could get my Babydoll.

I certainly hope they release more on the regular baby doll. It just sucks that they let so many preorders go out and then just decided to cancel a ton of them. Obviously they just oversold to be sure they sold out which is pretty damn amateur and unprofessional. I would think that they would want to remedy this colossal f#$up. I for one was considering getting blondie as well but without baby, I'm done.
