I will never understand the appeal or fascination with Harley Quinn as a character in any of her forms.
I bought the complete Batman: The Animated Series bluray last year and re-watched every single episode. As soon as Harley came on screen, I'd groan inside cause I knew the next 22 minutes were gonna be a chore to sit through.
She's utterly obnoxious and has the most grating voice in cartoons outside of Tress MacNeille. I never found her cute, funny, sexy, or interesting. Just annoying. She pretty much ruins all the Joker episodes. Even when the show first aired, I just never understood why nerds thought she was cool and was excited that she was coming to the regular DC Universe.
Ever since they changed her costume from that stupid jester thing to basically something a hooker would wear, she's even worse.
I like Margot Robbie. She was great in "Wolf of Wall Street" and "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood." But every time she opens her mouth in character as Harley it's like nails on a chalkboard. And she doesn't come off as "crazy"....just sub 80 IQ stupid.
I could almost understand the fascination cause Bruce Timm draws "sexy" girls, and on the cartoon Harley looked fine when she wasn't wearing the costume. But the costume is so stupid looking. Why did nerds in the 90s find that sexy?? Why did King Nerd Kevin Smith like this dumb character so much he named his only child after her?
I'll never understand. I can tell you this though...next time I re-watch B:TAS I'm skipping any episode with her in it.
