HBO Max and Discovery + are merging soon Hehehe, only a matter of time. Disney + will greatly benefit from Hulu and ESPN under one house, that’s why netflix became so big then content providers started getting greedy.

But Hey don’t get rid of your VHS tapes either, it’s selling at a price nowadays especially those vintage disney tapes!!!

I'm done with physical media. It takes up space and collects dust. That's what my action figures are for. 🤓

Get the 500 you got rid of back. The streaming apocalypse is upon us!

Also what are you getting rid of, VHS tapes?
510 dvd/bluray. Went digital with them.

My wife was so happy.

It was short lived.

I’m using that space for collectibles now lol

These corps are gonna be greedy at some point and yank your personal digital copies and force you to subscribe to their services. Mando is exhibit A.

I'm so ****ing annoyed that The Mandalorian isn't offered on Blu Ray. They probably won't until the show wraps, then they will drop an overpriced box set. I have considered a bootleg copy.

Never found a good program to do that or I didn't want to stream again and capture it all in real time. Makes sense as a business to keep it as the only place in town for you to go to get it.

Covid may have knocked-out our regular movie-going habit... but streaming shall obliterate the full theatrical experience as we used to know it.

You can tell your kids about the good 'ol days when you used to go to the movies every week, scrunch in close to a fat person who ate cheesy popcorn and sucked on a gallon of soda while you devoured your movie on the "big" screen (in between glances down to the jackass in front of you checking his phone every 5 mins). Ah, the trailers.... ah, the Sound System logos... the sticky floors... the crumbs in your seat... the cornball speeches by the staff about how they'll stick around to make sure your movie going experience is perfect... Gone -- ALL GONE!!!!
Streaming is the future. The cinema experience isn't what it used to be.

All the other big budget films will bomb this year and into next. People acting like it's just because TSS wasn't for them are in for a shock. Feel sorry for the hardcore Dune fans - that film will be the biggest bomb of 2021.

WB's entire slate of 2021 movies is the real life Suicide Squad.

I get what you are trying to say about the cinema experience being not what it used to be but think about what you just said.

Cinema is now capable of massive rumbling full atmos surround sound and 70mm Imax.

Travel back in time and go to the movie theater in 1977 or 1989 tell us how it looked and sounded hell just go watch 1080p AOTC and ROTS you’ll get the idea lol

Cinema experience is far beyond anything that existed just 20 years ago.

Of course from a technical point of view you can't beat the cinema experience.

It's the audience that is changing. Before Covid I was only going to the cinema about 4/5 times a year. This year TSS might be the only film I see at the cinema.

The more audience participation in a genre movie the better theater experience I have.

I wouldn’t trade my theater audience from Avengers1/CW/IW/EG for anything.

The cinema experience is definitely great technically, it's the people aspect that stinks. People think they're in their living room and act like it. Also, I think the big difference between now and the 70s and 80s is the quality of technology available to people in their home. I've got a 4k tv and decent surround sound that cost just a couple grand total and my experience is pretty awesome. I think it's the superior home technology that will ultimately drive the end of the movie going experience...
