For me Ledger, took the character to new places and a higher level of sophistication. He was legit scary.

Yeah, Ledger's Joker was just so ruthlessly unpredictable, he was genuinely frightening. Burning the giant pile of money was when you realized that this guy is five steps ahead of everyone else and he has much more grandiose and terrifying plans than merely being a crime boss.

Seeing it in about an hr.. will edit my more neutral thoughts later. I'm not a SS fan and have low expectations (thought BvS was meh.. not terrible, not great).

Someone say Joker...

Speaking of the animated Joker i just want to say for the record that if DC had simply done a live action version of the Batman/Superman three-part "World's Finest" crossover from the animated universe instead of Batman versus Superman I think they would have made Avengers money. The perfect Batman and Superman story was right there in front of them, all they needed to do adapt it for live action. Cast a younger Batman instead of aiming for a Dark Knight Returns aged Ben Affleck, keep Cavill and Amy Adams, cast Bryan Cranston as Luthor, Margot Robbie as Harley and...someone cool, not sure who, as the Joker, and there you go.

Just got back from it..

For me, I would rank it around BvS.. a meh. When I think back I go back and forth about which I enjoyed more. I enjoyed it for a matinee showing once, but won't be seeing it again. I will echo that Robbie and Smith steal the show... outside of those 2 you really don't find yourself caring about any of the others (at least I didn't).

I am considering picking up the Deadshot and Quinn figures tho..

I never understand those who just want to dismiss Nicholson's Joker as "camp". He was obviously very jokey and over the top at times, but there was always something really dark and twisted underlying all of that which I loved. Not to mention plenty of times in the movie when he was just plain creepy.

I'm a huge fan of Ledger's Joker as well, but his Joker struck me more as just being demented than truly dark and creepy. And in it's own way it was just as showy a performance.

im not sure but didn't he win an oscar for it? i seem to remember that he did. i don't think there was ever a joker or ever will be a better joker for that nolan universe. it would fit in well with the snyder universe.

people keep saying SS is like BvS. in other words, a "meh".

BvS was the best superhero movie i ever saw outside of CW. the ultimate edition of BvS cleans up the rough editing a lot. people need to go back and watch that.

The UE is the only version I've seen and I thought it was terrible in nearly every way. I say nearly because the batman warehouse fight and wonder woman in costume were the only decent parts and they made up about 2% of the film

Nicholson and Ledger for me all the way. Did not like Leto at all. He was trying way to hard in my opinion. The other 2 it just came natural

I liked Leto, he wasn't Ledger but then again Ledger's Joker couldn't exist in this universe. I can't imagine a Harley Quinn with that Joker, and his performance kind of sits apart but Leto was scary. He was nuts, half of the time it was hard to figure out what was going on except that someone was about to die. Even in the lunacy, especially with the costumed henchman, he had a scare factor that was fresh along side Harley.

I hope we get
Tuxedo Joker and a Jester Harley Quinn
from this line but honestly other than Croc, I don't need anymore than what we've got.

Well...after seeing the film I STILL want an Katana. But now I also want Diablo and Boomerang. Heck, I even want Enchantress(the green witch version) as she's got a really cool design and looks neat in the film itself.

I love Ledger and Nicholson reach in their own way. I've alway's enjoyed Hamill's Joker, but ultimately it's a two dimensional performance, just feels a bit flat. I'm looking forward to seeing Leto's take tomorrow.

Nicholson's Joker seemed like he'd love to watch you die but stop short of actually getting his hands dirty. He'd want to watch you suffer and laugh.
Ledger's Joker felt like he'd come up with some elaborate way to kill you, that'd scare you the entire time whilst sending a message.
Leto's Joker feels like he'd kill you as fast as look at you but not without a flurry of nonsensical ramblings that'd have you wondering just when it'd occur and then bam, you're dead. Like a crazed dog that you know is going to bite you but chases it's tail first and then does it without warning.

All three were intelligent though, especially if you watch how they conduct business. Each has their connections and knows how to work their environments for their own gain but it was three very different takes.

Did you forget about that part where he electrocuted that dude til he was nothing more than a charred corpse? Or when he shot Bob point blank for no reason?

Just got back from seeing the movie and I absolutely loved it. I was shaking my head through the entire movie because I just could not understand why people hated it.
