Just saw the trailer, the actress playing Kara looks great and so are the special effects. The overall tone and presentation however, seems cheese and clichéd to the point of making me clench my teeth.

I hope it's just the trailer because there seems to be a lot of potential to tell good stories with this instead of catering to a mass audience.

my only hope is that after the first two episodes it might become a little bit less silly. maybe more serious.

I thought that 6 minute promo was awful. I would describe it as a very watered down Ally McBeal with super powers, which is ironic considering Flockheart is actually in this.

there are "girly" movies or girly shows that are good, some are really good. (veronica Mars, New Girl, etc)

And then there is really cheesy, cringe worthy stuff like "Teen Mom" or "My Super Sweet 16" "

this trailer feels like they are trying to get the fans of Super Sweet 16 to watch. Which might not be a bad thing for the network, but they are kind of alienating A huge part of the viewing population.

maybe the show is better and i am just going by the trailer, but everything about this screams "The Hills" for me.

this looks exactly like that Catwoman movie, down to the evil Boss and the acting and the humor everything..... wtf

the trailer really gives me this vibe. (The music, the acting, the typical cliche evil boss, the humor) :(

Exactly! Just because you want to target young women doesn't mean you have to go full on cutesy! Hell, even Gilmore Girls was more sophisticated and mature than this!

But yeah, maybe the actual show will be better when they are not highlighting the fluffy teen drama stuff. There is definite potential there, though. Like many have pointed out, the actress has a lot of charm.

i think even mean girls had more sense than to go full "mtv girly show" than that.
i do not remember mean girls being this corny

I think it's the trailer...I hope it is just the trailer

Crows is right about there being some good girly shows though.

i dont think u guys are the one who should be talking about this series, lets all head to Barbie forum to see what they are talking about there ,lol

All the stuff with Supergirl was good. However everything involving Kara's personal life and her work just made me want to punch whoever wrote this crap. I can easily see this show being 10% decent Superhero stuff and 90% derivative young adult show drivel.

perfectly encompassed.

I really hope not, but looks like it.

Well, every bodies complaining about the girly thing while praising the action. That's funny, but I have no problem with the tone, however, the visuals... I couldn't help to compare the plane rescue scene with The Superman Returns plane scene, and man, it looks so cheap in comparison....

Ummmm... I think my 9 year old daughter will love it!! Me..... Not so much... :rotfl Did Disney buy CBS too?? God it looks like all the awful teeny bopper/kiddie Disney channel TV shows. :bounce And they'll talk about Superman every chance they get, but they'll never ever show him once.

Except as a last ditch stunt appearance 3/4 of the way through the season when the show is about to be cancelled.

He will show up, basically just to tell Kara "You go girl" and fly away. It will be the only thing people will remember from this show.
