Re: 1/6 Superman line from Mattel?

Love the product description. :rotfl

Really, Matthew? Is anyone besides yourself making this particular argument? Still, for $60, I may just pick one up. Much like EF, I do like those accessories...

well, amusingly, that statement IS true.. for now.
it's the best there is on the market so far.

Once Hot toys shows their hand, probably not, but for now, it's not a lie.

Hmmm...Does the secondary market count?

They did say the definitive Superman...not the definitive Christopher Reeve Superman...thus, their pants are clearly on fire. :monkey1

Good ol' Matty. Never one to back down from a little self-congratulation.

Honestly, I'd rather own a so-so Chris Reeve Supes than the HT Brandon Routh. Wound up selling mine because despite "being" Superman, he just didn't feel like Supes to me. As a matter of fact, he kept reminding me too much of the dirty Supes from Superman III with the color scheme. :lol

Re: 1/6 Superman line from Mattel?

i like it for what it is...not HT quality, but it's better than what I expected and I love the accessories and the figure just looks great for a $60 figure.

I'm hoping to see this under the Christmas tree XD

Re: 1/6 Superman line from Mattel?

I'll buy two for the costume and head. i want to see how the costume would fit on a TT body. I just really wish they had done something more interesting about the boot design. Ugh!!

While that is the best Superman figure made, its not available at retail right now.

It's also a $300 figure compared to a $60 figure.

But yea, it's a moot point since Hot Toys Reeve gets shown this winter and will own . . .

Re: 1/6 Superman line from Mattel?

I have to be honest, $60 just about scrapes in to being a reasonable price for this figure. Thank goodness Hot Toys is making one (They better not backtrack like they have with Avatar)

Re: 1/6 Superman line from Mattel?

Am I the only one who thinks he hooks slightly Asian? It's an ok for $60 but man I was hoping for somthing a little more. The proto shown at SDCC was great.

That would be the Hot Toys Reeve sculpt that would look Asian, like their latest attempt at Stark. :monkey1

Matty's Site has been updated with Decembers items!

you've been beaten bud :nana:

Superman product page is up on Matty.

https://www.mattycollector.com/store/matty/en_US/DisplayProductDetailsPage/productID.221654000

Sale date of Dec 15 is confirmed.

but It looks great for what it is. I initially thought that the boots were too high, but then looked online and the problem is that they're a tad loose looking, but nothing a few dabs of glue can fix :) can't wait to get this along with the HT effort.

And knowing the release date, we probably won't see anything from HT until a few weeks after this guy is out so Mattel can get their money without HT running over them with their more than likely better figure

Re: 1/6 Superman line from Mattel?

HS looks kinda stupid for me :( won't be getting this anymore.

Re: 1/6 Superman line from Mattel?

looks bad i recommend everyone to wait for the HT version!

eh, idk, sups is my favorite Hero so I try to get as many things superman as I can that is logical, and this is logical and definite buy for me.

buy logical I mean action figure related, not like a shot glass or notepad or something of the sorts with the "S" shield on there.

just my reasoning on wanting this. plus anything Reeve-Superman Related is practically an instant buy for me.

Re: 1/6 Superman line from Mattel?

I'm just buying it for the suit, should be okay to use to mod. i already bought an Enzio body to try it out on and I am sculpting a face for it.

Re: 1/6 Superman line from Mattel?

I'll buy this Mattel Superman, and then put a MUCH better Reeve Superman head sculpt on it that I got this year from sunohc. :yess:

I've still got my custom Reeve Superman coming from Les Walker, and I'll be getting the Hot Toys Superman too.

:)
