Thanks for the advice but if it's ok with you I'll make up my own mind.

$60 is chump change and it'll do just fine as a placeholder until HT's version comes along anyway.

I'm hearing much the same doubts on this figure as I did for Zod and with a repaint Zod looks great, I think the same might apply here too.
Personally I think the biggest issue with this figure is the way the cape hangs. And I do not like Mattel's hands, there awful.

Not to sound snarky but has it been confirmed that Hot Toys is doing one? or is it just a rumor that has gotten so much ink that people think it's fact. For the last year every time HT has made a huge announcement people have raved that it was gonna be Supes but then it turns out to be another version of Michael Jackson

yeah, they actually announced him on the face-book page a couple of months back, along with the hiring of Arnie Kim from enterbay to do the head-sculpt.

But when we'll see him is anybody's guess. It took them 3 years to turn out Lee from when he was announced. Not saying it'll take that long, but I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see anything until next year's toy shows and SDCC.

The DX tag is lame. PERS is all but useless here and likely just used to milk a few more Jacksons out of us.

I don't need PERS for Reeve Supes but an alternate head with light up red laser vision eyes would be nice. Ive been dying for a Christopher Reeve figure for as long as I can remember and I likely grab both the Matty and HT ones. People can go back and forth about Bats and Joker all day but Reeve is Superman.

I'll buy this Mattel Superman, and then put a MUCH better Reeve Superman head sculpt on it that I got this year from sunohc.

I've still got my custom Reeve Superman coming from Les Walker, and I'll be getting the Hot Toys Superman too.

Must be nice to afford all that.

I will ask my wife, or my parents for the Mattel Superman for Christmas. My luck it will sell out on December 15. So I may see if they can buy it for me early for Christmas. I don't know if that will happen or not. But it's worth a try, and worth asking them about it.

As I've told you before I paid Les for the custom Superman a few years ago. I'm just waiting on it to be finished.

I'll get the HT Superman after it comes out next year. Sure I'd LOVE to pre-order it. But I'll likely have to wait and get it later after saving up for it.

After looking at these again, I'm most definitely getting this figure for my work desk at least... But I'd be popping on the extra thigh bulk plates from my Obama adv. TrueType... SuperChickenLegs on this figure's buck!
