I agree with Ironman, something is off with the hair on both. Dean's hair looks more like David Beckham, needs to be shorter like in your ref picture you sent her. Sam just has the wrong hair, needs to be corrected to your ref picture. I think he looks so much cooler with the longer hair, and it was what you requested.

I don't understand the issues that some of had with Sam's hair. It's not the long hair of season three, but it's an exact replica of the season two promotional pictures. It's extremely accurate to that look. I actually prefer his season one hairstyle myself, but I'm perfectly fine with his season two 'do when it's so accurately represented. I care about accuracy more than preference, and there is no way anyone could mistake that sculpt as anyone other than Sam Winchester.

The picture the hair is from is on the 4th page of this thread, posted by William Shatner's Toupee. She sculpted that exact picture flawlessly. Making any changes to Sam at this point is like messing with perfection. Why bother? IMHO.

The hair on Dean could be a little shorter at the top, I agree with that.

My thing is not so much an "issue" as I said I'm fine with it if everyone else is. The Dean hair should be shorter on top for sure, IMO. Sam I think is just that section of hair sticking out on his right side. I know that his hair does this but it just doesn't look right to me. Perhaps once painted it will blend better. As for making changes, you commission a sculpt it should be changed until it is exactly what you ordered and/or wanted.
Again, that being said, I'm just happy to add them to my collection.

Oh, me, too. I wouldn't mind having Dean's hair shortened at the top, either. I'm biased with Dean, because he's my favorite, so wanting him to be as close to perfect as possible is just a side effect for me. :)

I really do think, though, that the Sam sculpt + a good paint job= absolutely freakin' awesome.

I agree Sam's hair looks just like the promo picture of the brothers. My point was more to WST told her Sam was to have the longer hair, just like in the picture under the brothers. The hair style was the reason he posted the picture. If that's what he asked for that's what he/we should get, not whatever she decided to do. This is why you get a chance to approve the sculpt before they cast. From what i've seen from her auctions she sculpts the head and face then adds the hair, it shouldn't be a big deal to change the hair.

I just can't get behind changing something that's already accurate to the character. If I had sent a pic of Sam's season one hair (my fave) with the season two promo pic and she'd done the same thing, I still would've been ecstatic over the sculpt of Sam and I would let the season one hair go. It's just not a big deal to me.

I'm for leaving it as is.

WST: Since you're the one that sent in the season three pic and preferred the season three hair, what do you have to say about it? Would you rather her go back and redo the hair?

Dean needs work. Tall Man needed a nose tweak. Sam looked GREAT, although there was that hair mistake. Yes, I did ask for specific hair, but in light of the other heads needing some more work done, I'm in favor of picking and choosing my battles.

Had Sam been the only commission and not one of three, I MIGHT have said something, but she really nailed that head regardless. Also, remember (I sculpt a bit too): removing all that hair to do a different style really is major surgery and could risk a very good chance of smashing or ruining the facework accidentally in the process. After seeing how amazing Sam was to start with, I would be haunted by any version she re-did after that.

As it stands right now, I signed off on Sam after seeing the iris' removed just this morning and paid her the rest of the money for the copies now that I had a set number. She said she is casting and painting him already.

I have to tell you, from looking and studying my comparison of the Dean head, she DIDN'T make any changes to it other than remove the iris'. Any percieved differences is due to shading and angles, showing it was really a bit of a nicer sculpt than the first pics showed.

That happened because communication is sketchy between us. She apparently never saw the "Dean changes" e-mail last week, (she doesn't always get E-mails) so I re-addressed it. I haven't heard back yet since she's seen it. I amended what I wanted to see changed on Dean since he does look nicer in the newer iris free photos to just fixing the sides of his hair and jaw, and not the eyes.

BTW- you can see how nice Deans flips in his hair actually is in the from the side view of him. You can't really tell from the front view how his head is short cropped behind it.

Do we have prices on these yet?

The group commission rate is $32 a character (the cost of the head, and the hiring for the sculpt divided amongst the community), + 10 per head if you want them painted by her, and + 5 in the US for S&H (both heads together).

PM me for the Paypal or snailmail address if you are interested. Since she is casting Sam already, I'd need to send her that update to the numbers soon to tack it on! :)

The pics on the left with the iris' gone are supposed to be the revised ones, with the pics on the right being the first version.

I think she just removed the iris. The hair wasn't touched. I don't think the other changes were made either. Yet oddly enough, without the iris he looks a lot more like Jensen. Thoughts? Communication is a slight barrier. I don't mind writing her for the Dean changes again, but I want to make sure noone else is seeing changes I don't.

You can see from the second from bottom side view pics that she did change the hair-also the ears have been finished.

I agree that the hair has been thinned on the sides, which makes it look better.

Hey peeps I'm having trouble finding a tan or brown jacket for my Sam. I'm also having a hard time finding a place that sells long sleeve button ups instead of short sleeve. I've been going to this place called: actionfigures2002.com, can anyone please help me and recomend somewhere where I might be able to find such clothing items or even just another clothing website in general?

Ebay! (Dean)If your like me in that I'm going for the black t shirt covered by a black/dark grey/faded shirt them a jacket. I have a couple that are light in color that I'll just dye. (Sam) I'm using tshirt with sweatshirt then jacket. Both with blu/blk jeans and boots.

While looking for reference pics came across this picture of a more stern look.
I think we are almost there. We have to ask ourselves if we where just looking over Ada stuff on Ebay and came across this sculpt would we buy it as is-would we be happy with it?

As of Wed evening I got her revised Dean pic back of the changes she made to the hair (shown below). It was still off. I asked Ada to lower his hairline as it started too high on his head and made his face look long and get rid of the hair part because Dean doesn't have one, and give him a his slight widows peak.

While "what would your thoughts on it be if you just saw it on E-Bay" is a really good way to look at it, we have every right to ask for a few changes as it is our commission, and this is what our commissioning a project together lets us do!

I started a Lance Henriksen "Bishop" commission thread if anyone is interested in the ALIENS AND ROBOTS" if anyone as interested, (who would also work well as a Ed Harley from "Pumpkinhead" base as well!)

It's getting there. Does his face tend to V out a little more? But yes, lower the hair line a little and fix the hair we'll be there. yes this is crap paint but it took 3 min.
