I like the HvV line up much better than All-Stars. I think the Heroes side looks pretty freaking strong. I do wish they made it 3 teams Heroes, Villians and Rogues.

Maybe the third team could be the ones who hang on the coattails of others-- Natalie could be the captain and they could all play the "social game" wonderfully... while losing every challenge and being the first team to be completely decimated.

Outwit... Outplay... Outlast... Natalie over Russell?... Major fail.

So true, its funny cuz when Colby lost wasnt it the exact same thing? Colby and Russell completely two different players but they both deserved to win hands down

There are a few people rumored there that I'd prefer to see in porn than yet another Survivor, but i'll take it I guess.

There are some players featured prominately on the preview for HvV that aren't on the rumored list, such as Erik from Fan Vs Favorites.

Thinking about it, maybe I'm not happy at all with that list. There are some major gaps and I don't like how there are so many players who were already on two seasons.

These all-star seasons need to have 30 players!

I disagree completely. The "social game" is a complete cop-out for a jury that didn't want to give their vote to the one who made them look stupid. From DAY ONE he had a plan, and like the great Shakespearean villain Richard III he spoke directly to the audience as he manipulated EVERYONE around him. Natalie, Mick, Jaison were along for the ride. Giving the title to anyone but Russell shows how ego comes into play.

Call it whatever you want but if you piss off the jury you won't win. You would think a "student" of the game like Russell would know that. And if playing Russell's way get me nothing while playing Natalie's way get me a million bucks I think I know which strategy I am using.

If that's what it takes to win then they need to revisit their slogan-- maybe something along the lines of "Piggyback the person who'll OUTWIT... OUTPLAY... OUTLAST... and play nice."

Call it what you will. Having Natalie win for simply being there demonstrates what a total farce the vote is. At least if Brett had been in the final three he would have done something (as the final member of Galu to hold on and having won those immunity idols)...

Besides not directly hurting anyone's feelings or upsetting anyone's massive ego (like Eric) what did Natalie actually do?...

Russell got robbed... It made the finale a joke.

the problem is having the peers vote. because the peers are usually bitter losers. but I suppose changing that final vote would basically make it survivor 2.0.

if i was the survivor commissioner I guess I'd implement some kind of new rule where every individual immunity won would get you 1 point, each jury vote = 1 point, etc maybe some other points awarded for other things, I don't know, but either system in some way or another becomes subjective.

the game is imperfect and slanted toward certain people, but every game is like that, basketball is slanted to tall people, football is slanted toward heavy people, baseball is slanted to good hand/eye coordinated people...survivor is slanted to the "politically correct people" or whatever.

Being a jury of one's own peers that is why I expected Russel to lose when his occupation came up.

I read that as well... But they seemed to really push his image in the remembering montage (setting up past great moments-- and obviously past great heroes and villains)...

Well they wanted to hammer home the idea of past Survivor villains and past Survivor Heroes. They can't show new footage, so they have to show old stuff to give new viewers an idea of how they define a villain/hero in the Survivor world.

True... But the concept of portagonist and antagonist is hardly a foreign one to the general public... It seemed like they were highlighting certain individuals as if to allow the longtime Survivor fan that moment of recognition. Regardless, I don't think Richard's schtick would last long (didn't he get womped out early in the all-stars one or is my memory tricking me?)... I think the most interesting thing would be seeing one of these morally incorruptable do-gooders have to use villain tactics to win it all. That would be interesting.

I think I will just agree with the jury vote. We see what the producers want us to see... they see what really happens every day.

for those that may not be happy with who is choosen to be on the 20th show, you have to remember that they may of asked 50 people and many of them may of said no, or had commitments that couldn't be broken.

Of course the sheep voted for another sheep. Sheep are never going to vote for a lion like Russell. They were a bunch of fools and lightweights playing with a heavyweight and true master of Survivor. He controlled the game from the very beginning and the jury of puppets were bitter and resentful at the puppet master.

I really wanted Russell to win, as he deserved it. He worked hard, found those hidden immunity idols and ran the show. Oh well...

As far as the next season, I'm looking forward to it, hoping the following are on it:

Rupert, Rudy (probably too old now), Ozzy, Jenna, Russell, Tom, and a few others.

You're right. The site I got the original information from seems to be outdated. Here is another unofficial cast listing that has different folks on it:

Survivor 20 Possible Cast Details
If casting rumors are correct, this will be the first time that some contestants are able to play the game for a third time. Among the possible “threepeats” are Jon Dalton (AKA “Johnny Fairplay”), who is best known for lying about the death of his grandmother while competing on Survivor: Pearl Islands and later being the first voted off of Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites, and Stephenie Lagrossa, the last remaining member of her Ulong Tribe on Survivor: Palau and the runner-up of Survivor: Guatemala.

Past contestant Coby Archa claims that at least 35 former contestants were contacted about possibly appearing on the show, and were interviewed in Los Angeles at the beginning of the month. Of those 35, apparently 10 had already appeared on the show twice.

Archa has also revealed that Natalie Bolton (Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites), Ace Gordon (Survivor: Gabon), Shane Powers (Survivor: Exile Island), Amanda Kimmel (Survivor: China/Fans vs. Favorites), and Parvati Shallow (Survivor: Cook Islands/Fans vs. Favorites) were also asked to participate.

Host Jeff Probst had previously revealed in his Entertainment Weekly blog that if there was ever another All-Stars season, Survivor: Tocantins contestants Benjamin “Coach” Wade and Tyson Apostol would be shoo-ins. Thus, it is likely that at least one of them, probably Coach, will be appearing on the show. Probst also expressed his interest in seeing Survivor: Tocantins winner and fan favorite J.T. Thomas Jr. return.

What they should have done for season 20 is call it Survivor: No Stars and bring back people who were voted off 1st or 2nd and see if any of them really did have what it takes. I really don't need to see Ozzy and Parvati and Rupert and Coach again.

That's a different idea, I remember when "Millionaire" was hot they brought a bunch of the people who were ousted after one question back.

:lol

If Sandra is on there I might pick her for the win. IMO she's one of the best ever, though she's a lot older now.
