They also said the armored characters are "black and white" and not something easily hinted at :lol Sneaky Sideshow. So the obvious guess is Stormtrooper and Clone Troopers. It could also mean Vader (black) and Troopers (white). Sounds like '08 will be army building time. I suppose SDCC stuff would ship in '08 right?!

I would get no hopes up about what army builders will be in '08, I'd be ready for ANH Rebels, Hoth Rebels, and more Endor Packs, nothing wrong with those, but I'd be prepared to get those and if they happen to score on Stormies and Clones, all the more joy when/if it happens.

Army builders . . . I wonder how they'll release such things as clones and stuff--after all, who can afford an army of SS Stormtroopers? Especially if they're limited in number, that would make it hard.

All in all though, it's great news!

Paul H. asks: Although the Jabba figure and his environment are a very welcome addition to anyone's collection, how often do you plan on releasing such large pieces (this is my wallet asking, not me)?

SSC: Tell your wallet not to worry (too much). We're sensitive to your wallet, but even more so to your display space. We would love to have a signature, centerpiece kind of item each year. Last year, it was Jabba in the 12-inch line. This year, it's going to be something speedy in the Premium Format line (the Speeder Bike and Scout Trooper Premium Format figure - announced at Celebration IV). 2008 may be a bit different, as rather than one big expensive item or set, army builders may get their day in the sun.

So I guess we won't be seeing anything as big and impressive as the Jabba set-up at SDCC. It looks like the Speeder Bike PF is it for this year. That means they must have something killer lined-up that won't make us disappointed about not getting another environment or other large piece.

I think in 08 the army builders we see are going to be Imperials as they said coyly that it is a "black and white" issue.

I don't about that.

I have lots to tell you guys, give some time to eat start some laundry and I will get to all that I found out from the Sideshow Panel and picking Brocks brain a lil.

Dark M. asks: I was wondering if the Darth Maul 12-inch figure will be back? The Darth Maul looks super nice like the rest of Sideshow toys!

Dude, they made like 10,000 of them. :maul

SSC: We've been greatly enthused by the overwhelmingly positive reaction to the denizens of Jabba's Palace. It was a bit of an experiment, and we're pleased that it went so well.

While we're obviously fans of Jabba's scenes, there's quite a bit of diversity in the coming figures. It's likely that you'll see more of Jabba's cronies further down the line, but not in the immediate future.

Bit of a downer, but acceptable answer. I do want a Yakface, Amanaman, Ree Yees and the Max Rebo band someday!

Ya, the Maul question was surprising, that must have been a question from someone very new to the line, I think even those that missed the Inclusive window were able to snatch him up during the Second Chance days.
