I remember seeing an interview (I think on one of the 2 disc dvd se's) with the executive producer rationalizing the old 4 movies as

Batman-based on the original 30's/debut Bob Kane version of the character

Batman Returns-Still dark 40's.

Batman Forever-Lighter tone, introduction of Robin stories of the 50's

Batman and Robin-All out Campy Adam West era of the 60's

I think it's just a coincidence that they went down the crapper that way, but nice way to try to sweep things up ;) I don't blame Schumacher, and while we got something close to it with Begins, I have to admit I would have been interested in seeing his Direct adaptation of Batman Year One, like he wanted to do for part 4.

Big Bad Toy Store is where I have mine on order I don't know if they still have them or not.

You might want to check the facts on that one lerath. It depends on the writer. Just take a look at the most recent Batman and Robin comic.

I will. If that is a direction they are starting to go... well. we will see. But one of the things i allways liked about him is that it was never something he would choose to do.
Granted there are exceptions to this, but in the burtonesque films it's like it was the eas way out, and he started to take it... like they were trying top turn him into what he hated.
Might mkae for good drama, but not something I want. Bruce should be dark, distrusting, and allways asuming EVERYONE has a hidden agenda, being held back from having an sort of meaningful relationship becuase of it, and generaly self-loathing on some internal level.
the comic series "bruce Wayne: murderer?" was one of my favoirite series.

after 60+ years and countless writers, batman/bruce wayne probably means something very different for everyone. I still remember the first 3 batman stories that I read: batman, arkham asylum, the killing joke, and dark knight return. I think these 3 stories pretty much sets what batman/bruce wayne is like for me. so reading anything earlier/later just feels weird, like the writers got it wrong, but of course I know that's not the case, but somehow it just feels that way.

The Batman from the animated series is kind of definitive for me. And that Batman would never kill. A random killing was what scarred his psyche for life and he could never participate in that.

I don't think Keaton Batman ever tried to kill either. He wasn't too chuffed if someone died while committing a felony, but he didn't just outright kill anyone.

Well, there was the fat, bald guy from the Red Triangle Circus gang in Batman Returns that Batman stuffed a bomb in his pants and dropped him into a sewer to blow up.

Frank Miller writes the new Batman and Robin comic and ,IMHO, he's ruining Batman. He's making him out to be some bloodthirsty, over the top, all round nasty guy. I'll always see Batman as first and formost a genius detective and secondly a master at combat.

Just personally, aside from the weird sexual stuff, I think Ichi the Killer is the best Batman story ever told. But then I really like stories that deconstruct and subvert myths and heroes. I like both the intelligent detective version of Batman and the psycho super violent on the verge of becoming a monster Batman.

Guys, a little help please. Are there any issues with the latex suit on the genx core takarta batman figure? Does the rubber deteriorate and if so is there any way to prevent this?
Would like to know for sure before i shell out $200+ on a figure:D

Cheers!

From what I've read DL there are NO problems with deterioration> This was mostly a rumor. Go to Good stuff to go and under "Products Available for Preorder" it's under Batman in Genx Core (Takara Tomy) (2008). I ordered mine there and they are 163.50 shipped in the US.

Latex does deteriorate but you'll be so old before it happens that you'll be lucky to even be able see your BB figure by then.

Exploding clown pants aren't necessarily deadly. The guy probably got out of his pants and just lost a limb or something. Did you actually SEE any clown parts blowing up out of the sewer? No.

And I'll agree that "All-Star" Batman & Robin is not my cup of tea. Miller is laughing all the way to the bank at DC, the fans and a character he seems to have nothing but contempt for now.
