The kids get fed first. No worries. I take care of my responsibilities (mortage, bills, child support, car, groceries, etc), save a little, and then the rest is play money to do what I wish... including splurging on an occasional $400 toy. :D

Just so you know, kids fetch a pretty good resale price...just FYI if you come up short for Indy merchandise.

:D

Could it be possible they are using the Arnie Kims sculpt?
Just trying to understand what their higher price, thus greater quality might be.

I can't remember all the things that were posted. Something like two heads, two felt hats, four costumes, etc. Designed in combination with Takara and Toys McCoys. It sounds like a good deal to me. I tried emailing some Japanese sites, but no response. They either can't read English or don't ship outside Japan. Some have them about $50 and more, cheaper for a pre-order, sight unseen. I'd go for it if I could get some confirmation to my questions.

They definitely aren't using Arnie Kims sculpts, and I expect them to be similar to Takara's Batman Begins figure and Medicoms style. That is to say the skin tone is in the plastic, rather than painted, the heads being that soft hollow type.

i've found some japanese sites selling for as much of a discount as down to $300. that's a damn good price. but none of them ship overseas and like i said before, they don't accept foreign credit cards. as soon as i see a good pic i think i'll get my friend in japan to wire the money to one of these places. but $100 discount is not bad. i don't think i'd even consider paying $400 after seeing that.

It's possible they might raise their prices when the final specs are announced. The guy that saw the ad slick (and gave us the details) says it's actually $500 USD.

Man this one is going to break the bank, no doubt buying one off evil-bay won't help! Amarcord, are you still looking for one of those Arnie Kim heads? I imagine we may see an official enterbay one eventually especially with all the hype around the new movie. It's Indy merchandise heaven at the moment so they'll possibly try to capitalise on it.

An Arnie Indy would be sweet. The more the merrier. Up until now Enterbay has played down, to the point of saying, no they won't be doing it. Situations change, and here's hoping. If they were going to do it, I would have thought they'd have scoped it out first, and maybe it was too soon to develop a new boy in time. Apart from their Gangster figure, they haven't got a body prepared. I haven't heard a word about the Gangster mentioned here before, so I don't even know what it's like.If they're not in a position to strike the Indy train, they may as well not try. The licence may not rape it so badly later. They may choose to visit that option later, when they establish their direction, focus and assets. It's only a newly established company, and these guys are determined to do what they do right, or they wouldn't have bothered to get this far.

I didn't think it had claimed anything yet, other than being devilishly expensive!

Where are those FREAKIN pics!!!

Did you see the supposed list of everything this comes with and how it's packaged (look back a couple I'd days ago in this very thread). Pending headsculpts and production quality this does promise to be amazing. But I agree... we want pics!!!! :tap

And doesitmatter, if I were you it would be the Medicom Indy I'd be cancelling for this, especially after seeing their laughable Mutt and Indy IV figures. Plus, don't underestimate the fact that the SSC Indy comes with that 2nd head, which is a customizer's dream... if you're into that sorda thing.

It sounds as if it comes with quite a lot. I just don't think I can swing $400 for a 1:6th scale figure unless this thing is the most amazing piece ever.

Unlike the $165 Medicom Royal Guard :)monkey3) this is much more than just a single, plain, barebones figure in a boring cardboard box.

You are correct there in that you do get more with the Takara Indy. No doubts there what so ever. I'm not saying I won't order this but right now I've got to at least think it over.

I've been trying to catch up with this thread, what with all of the new info. Not to be suspicious, but where does all of the info come from, and why doesn't anyone else have it listed? (It's possible I missed this if it was mentioned.)

Assuming it's accurate, do people really want to spend $400+ on a single figure with four outfits? Even if they're done amazingly well, you can only enjoy one at a time, and dressing and undressing 1/6th scale figures is difficult enough that I probably wouldn't do it very often, so I'd feel like I wouldn't be getting my money's worth. You could get three or four non-exclusive Sideshow Indys from a retailer, come up with some similar outfits and be able to display them all at once for that amount of money.

Anyway, I'm still interested in seeing pictures...

That's completely understandable. To be honest, even though I have this pre-ordered at BBTS I'm not 100% sure I'm keeping my order. I'll make that decision when I see some pics.

That said, this is now apparently more than just a 1:6 figure. It promises to be a hardcore collectible item.

That's why despite all it comes with I'm not sure it will be worth it. I don't want to sit down and play dress up with my figures. I'd pick one and thats it for me. So I wouldn't get much use out of it and I'm not buying several of these. I'll wait to see pics before I make my decision totally one way or the other but this figure does at the very least sound cool.

I'd have to see pics. I have no problem paying 400.00 if the value is there. Can't see how they can charge that much and not even include an ark but we'll see. To blindly lock in with a CC at that amount with no pics though is just nuts.
