Here's my C-3PO 12" Perfect Model Chogokin figure.
Expensive yes, but you get what you pay for.
I have two critiques with the figure. First- his legs aren't articulated that well at all. Secondly, his ankles want to give out under the weight of the figure.

All my true type figures give out under weight of the figure. It seems to me it's all about the pose and distribution of weight. A figure this expensive could have been better I suppose. I'm just not sure that there wouldn't be at least one or two poses that a figure this heavy couldn't topple over from.

Mine stands alone.....no stand, no toppling.

The ankles on my figure are absolutely sturdy. I hope the ones on my replacement are equally as sturdy.

I use the stand, so the ankles aren't an issue, and posed right he can stand on his own. I do see it becoming an issue down the line however.

So glad i ended up getting this.

I'm not interested in commenting on whether this figure is overpriced for what it is. If I like it enough, and I can afford it, I buy it and don't give it a second thought. But I do expect that in paying that price, I will be receiving a perfect figure. It's marketed as perfect, it's priced as perfect, it should bloody well be perfect.

I know it's a small thing, but is anyone else surprised/disappointed they packed this guy on plain white styrofoam? At the very least I expected this level of figure would be packed in black open cell foam, especially given the amazing contrast it would make with the gold finish...
I'm into package design and while the exterior of this one is over the top, the inside doesn't follow through.
It's a small nit, for sure, but I noticed that immediately, too. Black foam would've suited the overall package better, I think.

Black foam would've allowed too much movement inside the box. Fine for most clothed figures, but not ideal for this material and finish, which invites small scratches. The white foam allowed the plastic shell to hold the figure firmly in place.

Don't tell that to Apple - they shipped my $3000 aluminum notebook in black foam. ;)

Must be one of them new Apples with the highly polished metal alloy surfaces and articulated appendages that haven't made it to Oz yet. The only ones I'm familiar with are of the compact, regular-shaped matte finish aluminium variety.

I've never ever received an apple product in black foam. And i'm a proper apple junkie. iphone, ipod, ipad, mac-air, powerbook, imac etc (hate them but cant live without them). Everthing is white or grey styrofoam (or recycled card) as Lejuan suggests.

Was it secondhand?

Damn, that's right it was black thermoformed plastic and black foam. The foam on the top layer. And "black" is a misnomer as it's actually all charcoal. The last two Macbook Pros I bought were in 2011 and 2009, both had the same configuration. The Powerbook before that was a little bit different.

And with regard to the figure, this is essentially a toy. The computer makes me money - it's a tool, it's how I earn my living.

In any case, styrofoam (expanded polystyrene) can also be made in any color - black would have screamed "premium" and would just have fit the rest of the packaging better. But open cell charcoal foam can also be had in multiple densities and would protect that figure perfectly well.

It's a non-issue anyway.

In the end if you wait you will most probably get almost anything cheaper, but if you wait to long they will dry up at retail and the after market will sting ya. Plus, if you have a problem with the figure and you need a replacement you could be left without any options.

If you genuinely are interested you should get this now & just enjoy it, white foam and all.

I know I'm very happy to be able to open a figure, find it has scratches on it, and be able to arrange an exchange with the store :)

Are they going to do a full replacement? I know you were on board on day one, so I hope it works out for you. :1-1:

For the record, I'm never happy to open a box and find damage - but I know what you mean!

Yeh, it was a bit of a hassle as their returns department didn't get back to me for nearly two weeks. So I called their CS department, spoke to a lovely lass named Jennifer who followed up on the call with an email to me asking me to forward her the email I sent to the Returns department. She got the email seen by the right person, and I was given some options.

I didn't want a partial refund or discount voucher for a future purchase - as the figure is still in stock I opted for a full replacement. They're going to send me a shipping note to cover the postage too :)

...of course then the wait begins for the second unboxing, where I'll be praying I lift a perfect figure from the box

Cool, sucks you've had to wait so long to enjoy this most excellent action figure.

I don't pray, but I'll cross my fingers for you dude. :lol

At the rate profits are being burned with all the shipping, you shouldn't have to pray. The shipper should open the box and inspect the contents before sending it out. Any time I've done warranty work in the past I've always made sure the replacement product was good before sending it out. It's cheaper that way. ;)

Thanks man. The wait and hassle doesn't bother me so much. In a month's time I'll have (hopefully!) forgotten all about it.

I agree, I'd be happy to have the replacement inspected before having it sent out, but it could get awkward and messy if folks receive the replacement with more problems. It becomes like, whose responsibility is it? If it was inspected and sent out, the store has obviously decided it's good enough - so do they then deny any further replacements, etc. I imagine they just bank on a certain percentage being faulty and factor that into their CS model.
