Would go the hlj route as well.
Sorry to hear that, Lejuan.
I think it'll work out with you, Lejuan. I'm sure you'll get a good one from HLJ. Third time's a charm!
Thanks guys, I'm sure it'll work out with HLJ. One thing about this thing being kind of pricey is that there are still plenty of stores out there that have it still. If the next one arrives with issues I'll just keep returning it until I get a good'un.
That is brutal. Really makes me think that anyone that still has one yet to ship (like in my case) is probably going to get a returned item.
Ugh... guess I'll find out. At least you're getting your money back, but kind of cold comfort considering the Sideshow premium.
This is the first time I've ever had to call on a store to exchange a figure, and it's happened amidst all the talk about how SSC's CS standards aren't what they once were. With SSC's prices being that much more than just about every other store, there are four things SSC have going for me as a non-US collector:
* cheap shipping: this cost $25 to ship, DX11 cost $30. Normally shipping even a basic figure from the US costs $45. I paid the same for DX11 as I would've from BBTS, but I get the exc. instead of the reg.
* exclusives: very occasionally the exclusive is worth the extra coin, but 9 times out of ten, for me at least, it's not.
* reward points: though 5% RW hardly negate the extra 10% MSRP
* first class CS: er... apparently not. Waiting 20 days to be told my in-stock figure can't be replaced is more like 2nd class CS.
* Flexpay: that did make it easier to pick this up when up-front funds were low, but it's not a factor in what I buy or not.
There's only one thing that'd see me ordering again from SSC and that's a must-have exclusive like the DX04 extra body. Failing that, there really is no point.
