What's left to fix except the ugly pistons? ;)

What. :lol

Edit: Got it. Just asking if there is a more affordable option in the future. Mine doesn't need to weigh 47 pounds and made out of metal. Not that those aren't cool features. *sigh* I'm going to have to lay down the cash for this if I want a proper C-3PO aren't I?

One if my pistons was apart when my figure arrived but they have a tab that locks into place and when it does it stays there.

I'm glad Sideshow handed this one over to Bandai, it's awesome.

I bet this thing marks up easy. How often are we seeing blemishes out of the box? Any other QC issues I should know about?

Yes Fiend, yes you will.

But I'd be very surprised if you ever regretted it :)

The marks I came across weren't from rubbing in the box or anywhere else, as per the usual, they were a result of the casting/curing process. This figure is tough, the surface treatment robust, and there don't seem to be as many surface issues with these as first thought. Check out my 'destruction' video. I laid into it with a couple of different hammers and in the end I literally had to resort to a sledgehammer to properly bust it apart.

It's been said a lot that this figure is in a whole different league to other high-end 1/6 figures but truly it is. I can't get over how premium this thing is. It's like feeling pretty pleased with your garage of prized BMWs and then plonking a Ferrari in there.

Holy crap, that was you?! I thought you were just posting some random guy's video because you were shocked at the desecration of this beautiful piece. :lol Still surprised at the lack of reaction to it, as I figured not a few people here would've been horrified, haha. I think the thing that surprised me most is how you're handling it literally with white gloves in the beginning, lay it gingerly on the soft sheet and then proceed to smash it to bits. I was like, but why did the guy wear white gloves if he was gonna smash it?! :lol

:lol Yeh, that was me taking a hammer to it, as directed by sideshow. I had plans of videoing the whole process, with a bit of dramatic flair for shock value - but I realised pretty quickly that a little hammer wasn't going to cut it. Destroying that figure gave me an enhanced appreciation for it tbh - the assembly, materials and surface finish are all top-notch, the extent of the R&D really is clear. I swear that some of those blows did not make anything more than a tiny scratch on the metal. I ramped it up to a heavy pein hammer, and still it wouldn't bust apart. In the end I put the figure in a sack and bashed it with a sledge hammer - and even then I had to smash some pieces individually because they weren't being suitably trashed enough.

Sideshow asking me to destroy it was what gave me the idea to switch out parts if the one I received from HLJ wasn't perfect (which it was). I waited 'til I received my full refund from Sideshow before posting the video, just in case for some reason it affected my claim.

I watched that video when I was still thinking about getting this figure. I saw that and realized the brick this figure is. L

I think we've been conditioned to accepting an inherent fragility in 1/6 figures - it sure is nice to handle something this robust. The price you got it for made it a great buy - I paid around a hundred more and still think it was worth every cent :)

Jesus. :lol That thing took a beating. :lol

What was wrong with it, Lejuan?

See pics below:

... I don't know if this stuff would've bothered me on a $200 figure, but I paid over twice that from sideshow. Seeing everybody's else's perfect examples convinced me I was entitled to make an issue of it. It was a long process in the end, but definitely worth going through :)

I'd really like to see some pics of these blemishes or "flaws" if anyone has any.

I learned a long time ago on this forum that some things people lose their mind about I just look at and go "meh". So really all this blemish talk may be nothing to me.

@ Lejuan Hmm, I see what you're saying. I think those dings would have bothered me the most. I completely understand you wanting better though. There is one for sale in Like New condition at Amazon for a reasonable price. DOn't know if I should take the chance though....

:lecture This is the type of figure that you sell other figures to be able to afford. The type of figure you'd reduce your entire 1/6 collection to two if that was the only way to own it. The type of figure that makes you a better man. The man who owns this figure is a man of integrity and someone to be trusted. The man who chooses not to own this figure is suspect. I shall mount this figure on the bonnet of my 1987 Ford Laser and indulge in an afternoon of motoring, enjoying as I drive the admiring and envious glances of passers-by.

:lol

Just found this.
