But did they? I've had it on order at a local etailer who's had my deposit for 4 years I reckon. I heard GG changed the date to sometime this year? Local etailer won't refund me as they've placed orders through GG.

Either way it's meant to go with the GG Threepio Statue and that's smaller than this Threepio.

Their website says Postponed, which pretty much means canceled. And with the Tamashii R2-D2 coming out there's no point for GG to put out theirs.

I am pretty new to collecting. I have HT Luke and both dx Jokers and I have to say my best fig so far is 3po. He is just outstanding. The likeness is remarkable. Very expensive for a 1/6 scale but worth it. Much better than any plastic version.

It was supposed to be made of polystone and wasn't articulated. That kind of makes it a statue, even if it has some panels that open and a few accessories.

Bummer. It looks really cool. Thought it would make a cheaper option for Threepio if the money wasn't there for the Tama.

Statue, same as the Threepio they made with no moving parts, couple of opening doors on R2 but other than that it was static. Polystone statue.

Either way it's not happening. Our best bet for an R2 is for Tamashii to start from scratch with their R2 and get the size right.

Apart from the size, I wonder how these would compare to the premium figures

We'll see what they do with the lights for R2, they might not be able to do the same lighting effects since it would be too small.

R2 has much more internal room for electronics and lighting than 3PO, so it shouldn't be a problem. LEDs are also available in sizes down to 1mm or so if need be.

So far no mention of an R2 sighting at SDCC - I'm pretty sure everything Star Wars related at the SSC booth has been covered by Rebelscum in their gallery.
